Just got back from an awesome trip yesterday evening to Downtown Disney and wanted to post some updates.
-TrendD construction is underway. Quite frankly the logo for this new store seems extremely dated and out of touch with the current trends. Unless of course this is 1994 and Mickey Mania is the hit new parade at the Kingdom.
-I didn't notice this, but the Marketplace's Guest Relation interior has FINALLY been updated since the long gone days of the Walt Disney World Forever kiosks and airbrushing stations. In it's place is a decor ripped straight out of the Wilderness Lodge or the Grand Californian. It's nice, but does not exactly gel well with the original Village architecture (what does now?)
-We decided to check out the fairly new Disney Design-a-Tee Store presented by Hanes. Before I continue I do have to say I miss the old store's merchandise selection of audio, video, and books. I also miss the charming white board they had with each guest's home state/country. A Cast Member also said they've received quite a few complaints that they no longer offer postal services with a Tinkerbell stamp.
I have to concede (shamefully) and agree whole-heartedly with Kevin Lansberry, vice president of Downtown Disney, that this "store fits perfectly with our What Will You Celebrate 2009 campaign. Whether guests are celebrating an anniversary, a birthday or a special reunion, they can create a special Hanes t-shirt to show how they feel.”
He's completely correct...
So we went to go thank Kevin Lansberry in person!
But they we're closed...
Where could he be at such a late hour? Hmmm...
He must be here based on this awesome information!
