Do you think that Disney world will reclose its gates due to the rising number of COVID cases in Florida and around the country?

And I don’t want to hear that CNN is more reputable than WSJ...this has several studies and cross references to consistent data:

I didn’t say anything about cnn...if you read the source material - it takes that kinda straw man argument out of play

That could be an issue if someone really needs to access their safety deposit box or really needs to meet with a banker because the customer does not have access to a computer or does not even know basic computer skills to do online business.

I have two bank managers in my family. During the most intense part of the shutdown the lobbies were closed except by appointment. Legally banks cannot close.

Okay, sincere question...how is sending kids to school (and there are adults there as well) and working in an office safer than going to a movie, eating inside a restaurant, or going to an amusement park? You're in an enclosed space for hours. Those are the two things in the moderate risk category that I honestly do not understand...why aren't they at least moderate-high.
Just got back here and saw your question to me. Also saw someone answered.🙂

I wonder if this is the first time Myrtle Beach has been mentioned on this forum...probably considered an honor. Yes, I’m from SC.

Well...something about that old 80’s scene (my grandparents lived in calabash, North Carolina for decades) isn’t going well.

Allegheny County, Pa (Pittsburgh...my old hood) had to shut down bars and restaurants a couple of days after flash points developed - the largest one being linked to 20 year old fools back from myrtle...

And over the weekend here in Jersey the new contract tracing snoops the good times governor has rolled out are tracing a flashpoint back to people returning from an out of state weeding in??...you guessed it: myrtle beach.

So something “ain’t right” at the Captain Jacks on 17

Mayor Demings as being "fairly comfortable" with the opening.

In the Orange County COVID-19 Update press conference on Monday, Mayor Demings referred to the measures Disney is taking to contain any possible spread of the virus, and said “we have to try to get our economy stimulated, but we don’t want to do that at the expense of risking people’s safety,” adding “we’ll just have to monitor [the situation] going forward.”

Not to knock a source without reason, but locked behind a paywall and the link starting with "opinion" doesn't look great

That’s where they’re at...I don’t really have a problem with it.

It is what it is.

I read the wsj a lot...there’s good reporting...

But never forget that it is a pro-money paper and those that are leashed to money are getting quite tired of this “health” thing...the editorial board is firmly of the opinion everyone needs to continue their quest to become billionaires without further tedious delay.

I should probably rephrase as "doesn't do a good job proving the point". Agreed wall street journal has good reporting

I’m tempted to start a thread on the “Wonders of Myrtle Beach.”

And you think everyone wants to go to Disney...I guarantee most people are t thinking about going to WDW.
Do I think that here?

...first time on the board? The completely whack a doodle emphasis on Disney being open - even if it’s unwise or people have no immediate plans to go - is a “testament” to the Walt Disney Company.

It’s the spectre behind all this covid talk. Not hard to track if you’re watching.

It is what it is.
I understand they have kind of waited too long and backed themselves into a corner with this and pretty much have to go forward, but how many more positive cases is too much? What is too much? It is already more cases now then what it was when it originally shutdown in March I believe.

I don’t doubt it...

But I’m not talking as if I was there last week. Many, many moons ago.
It’s still just as bad...
