Yes, I also think we have seen more than that. You need to keep on top of your musical seeing stuff or else I won't allow you to call me your sister - hee hee hee. But I definitely thought you had seen more than me until I realize that you haven't. Here's my list of shows I've seen on stage:

A Chorus Line
Fiddler on the Roof
Phantom of the Opera
Beauty and the Beast
Rent
Smokey Joe's Cafe
Chicago
Jekyll and Hyde
Miss Saigon
Les Miserables
South Pacific
Anything Goes
Music Man
Singing In the Rain
Tap Dogs
Bring in Da Noise Bring in DA Funk
Lord of the Dance
Civil War
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
Fosse
Into the Woods
Saturday Night Fever

And I'm seeing Jesus Christ Superstar in December and Mama Mia in January. And there has to be more that I can't remember. Laurel, you're going to have pick up your musical seeing to catch up with me!

I can't believe I missed this thread!!

I love musicals I was brought up on them by my mum! And as I'm a dancer I've been in a fair few although my fav is Singin In The Rain, the last one I saw was Thoroughly Modern Millie on Broadway in March the night before the musicians went on strike which was a pain as we had tickets to see The Producers.

I've played Bet in "Oliver!", title role in Annie as well as Lily St Regis a few years later and Delores in "Some Like It Hot". Been in the chorus for countless others, last one was Copacabana in 2000.

And yes I agree with the feelings about Bob Fosse, fabulous choreographer!

My favorite musical of all time is Sweeney Todd! (I'm a sucker for cannibal comedy.... :D ) Next best, Into the Woods. I guess I'm a bit of a Sondheim fan. :animwink:

I love musicals.

I used to perform in them frequently with the nations oldest amatuer theatre group when I lived in Louisiana.

Musicals I performed in were Kismet, Oklahoma and West Side Story (I think that's it for musicals).

I was an assistant director for Bye Bye Birdie and would occassionally fill in as an understudy in it.

I like performing in dramas and comedies better though (I don't have to dance - heh).

I have been thinking about getting with a theatre troupe here in Pensacola lately, I miss it (and the cast parties).

Hey blizz, thats a pretty impressive resume you got there! I was in Footloose this past year, and it was AWESOME! Really, really great show. I'm getting ready to start rehearsals for "Lucky Stiff" (it's based on "The Man Who Broke the Bank At Monte Carlo") which should be interesting...

Yeah, and I am a proud Thespian! I have ordered the lighting for Footloose (goes up in March). This year i was really given the freedom to go nuts with it so i ordered all kinds of automated lighting and cool effects. I cant wait to play with it. I love the music and I have performed the music to it in chior two years back. I think it will be a fav. for me. Gotta be better then the Crucible, geesh after just 3 run throughs i was falling asleep.

I havnt heard of that show you are working on, I'll have to look it up. Lots of luck with it!

Right now I am trying to talk our group into doing "Newsies" when they release it later this year or next year.

you're so lucky! i was in it @ my high school and well...it was really good but we didn't have much to work with when it came to lighting and such. the lighting aspect was kinda sad, lol. yeah lucky stiff isn't that well known, but i think its writers Stephen Flaherty and Mary Ahrens are. They wrote "Suessical" and "Ragtime". (two of my favs!) i am SO wanting to do Aida, now that its been released, but i was told by my professor that since not a lot of people can dance at my school, its probably a no go. :p
