I can't believe I missed Beauty and the Beast at MGM when I was there. Has anyone seen this on Broadway? I like movie musicals like "State Fair, Fiddler on the Roof, Cats, Grease, Bye Bye Birdie, Sound of Music...and like I mentioned before, Lil' Abner   " I was just thinking of all the movies that were actually musicals, I like too many to name. Oh...And I liked "Tommy" really weird but I liked it.

I saw the B&tB touring company both times it came to Chicago. A lot of our patients told me they did not bother to see it because they had seen it at MGM! I was like, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT THE SAME THING! I think if more people had known that it was completely different, more people would have gone to see it. When I told them the difference a lot of them were upset they had decided not to go downtown.

I imagine the Broadway show is terrific. Is the B&B at MGM just a short show, like little mermaid?

The one at The Studios is a good show, but it can´t be compared to the one in Broadway! Same thing with The Lion King and its Broadway version!

I also saw the touring company for B&tB in Tampa, and it was totaly different... it was the real thing! The special effects were awesome! I was speechless when the Beast becomes the prince right on my face!

Musicals are a lot of fun--good times. I've only seen A Christmas Carol and Pippin at a local showing, and Beauty and the Beast, Aida, and RENT on Broadway! Broadway were all class trips, but fun nonetheless.

Musicals are my favorite.

Stage: Chorus Line, Chicago, Cabaret, Pippin

Movies: The best has to be Singin' In The Rain.
Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Kiss Me Kate, West Side Story (originally written as an opera), Cabaret, Chicago, On the Town, Anchors Aweigh (live and animation), Fiddler on the Roof, Grease and too many more to list.

If I could only sing (without making the cats scream)

Well I have seen a few myself (okay a lot more than a few):

Fiddler on the Roof
Phantom of the Opera
Beauty and the Beast
Mamma Mia (London)
Spend Spend Spend (London)
Grease
Les Miserable (London)
Miss Siagon
Lion King (London)
Chorus Line
Singing In the Rain
Tap Dogs
Bring in Da Noise Bring in DA Funk

Chicago (London) will be watching in US for my Birthday in November
Fosse (4 times in London once in the US) IT is my all time favorite. I think any dancer should see a Bob Fosse production once in their life and study his work to the fullest. I also have it on DVD.

I know I have seen more but I can't think of them right now. Oh well, I guess I am a musical fanatic.

I love Bob Fosse!!! i completely agree, every dancer should study Bob Fosse!! When i was in Godspell, i was the Turn back O' Man soloist and requested the choreography be Fosse style! It was and it was an awesome show! Are you a dancer too?

:( Did anyone hear about Donald O'Conner's passing? He was so awesome in Singin in the Rain, especially when he sang Make Em' Laugh. I wish I could dance all crazy go nuts like he did, flippin' off the walls and stuff.
