"Ya got trouble, my friend!"

OMG- I have that song memorized. I have been known to sing it (say it?) in my head when I am really, really bored (example- while listening to a very boring lecture while I was still a student).

Do you thikn I have a problem?

Hehe, the whole fog machine was a little much for us. The stinch from it was BAD! And our top singers were right next to it! So, all you could here was the bad people singing!! :dazzle: But we had auditions in Jan. Started rehearsles in Feb....the show went on the first week of April! We did pretty good too!! Oh yeah! This thing called "SOLO (Southern Ohio Light Opera)" just did The Mikado!! I didn't get to go though. Did you have any big parts in any of the musicals?

If anyone would like to see some pictures from our "Brigadoon" just let me know! This pic is of "The Wedding". That's "Charlie" & I played "Jean". The dress was SO heavy! But pretty.

OK, I'm gonna jump in on this--

While I'm not necessarily a FAN of musicals, I've probably seen more of them than I even realize, 'cuz my mom is so heavy into them. As a kid, I became quite familiar with "Brigadoon," "My Fair Lady," "Oklahoma!", and plenty others, since that's what was played in my house. I've seen some of those shows live, too, at a rotating summer theater in my hometown.

Anyway, despite the solid stories and good music, I've always had a slight problem with the whole notion of people spontaneously bursting into song and everyone else inherently knowing all the lyrics. Sure, it's entertaining, but not very plausible, if you think about it. :D

Anyway, I just didn't want to be left out, so I thought I'd try to cause some trouble here. :animwink:

And for the record, I'd have to say "Brigadoon" is probably my favorite. I've always liked that story--and "Sound of Music" is just TOO LONG. I mean, c'mon--it's a woman who moves in with a guy and his freakin' kids! How long do you really need to tell that story?!?

'k, I'm done.

LOL!! I agree that it's weird that everyone knows the lyrics & dance moves. I watched "West Side Story" today. And was thinking that. I had never heard of "Brigadoon" until we found out that that's what we were going to do.

I saw "Brigadoon" live when I was about 6, way before I saw the movie. Do you have any pics of you guys dancing from your school production? You made a pretty good Jean, based on that one picture.

You perform in musicals? That's cool. You look very nice in that dress! Anyway, I like musicals, but I don't get out much. I got to out more! Too much time spending at the airport! Can you send me some pics? My e-mail is jaylenofan86@hotmail.com. Maybe I could fly over to Ohio and see you in one.:)

That's the magic of musicals and movies! Think about it, a 7 ft. talking mouse isn't very plausable, either, is it? :animwink:

WDW*Babe - I was pretty much a back-row-of-the-chorus musical performer until college. That's a GREAT picture of you in Brigadoon - GREAT costume, too! Did you rent them? We rented ours for all our musicals from a theater company in NY (I went to high school on Long Island).

If you look closely at the Robin-Hood-and-his-merry-men scene from "Shrek," you'll see bits of choreography from "West Side Story" (and those old Hollywood swimsuit musicals, and "Men In Tights," and "Riverdance" too, among others!)

Sure, it's not too likely that people would burst into song at the drop of a hat in their REAL lives, but that's what movies, musicals, and WDW are all about, anyway - taking you OUT of real life for a while!

I LOVE musicals! My favortie is Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I also like Phantom and I'm hoping to see Aida when it comes to Detroit in the fall.

Last year I was in the Pit Orchestra for two musicals at school: Bye, Bye Birdie and Krazy For You. One of my really good friends had one of the leads in Krazy For You. They were both awesome shows!:sohappy:
