OK, I'm gonna jump in on this--
While I'm not necessarily a FAN of musicals, I've probably seen more of them than I even realize, 'cuz my mom is so heavy into them. As a kid, I became quite familiar with "Brigadoon," "My Fair Lady," "Oklahoma!", and plenty others, since that's what was played in my house. I've seen some of those shows live, too, at a rotating summer theater in my hometown.
Anyway, despite the solid stories and good music, I've always had a slight problem with the whole notion of people spontaneously bursting into song and everyone else inherently knowing all the lyrics. Sure, it's entertaining, but not very plausible, if you think about it.
Anyway, I just didn't want to be left out, so I thought I'd try to cause some trouble here. :animwink:
And for the record, I'd have to say "Brigadoon" is probably my favorite. I've always liked that story--and "Sound of Music" is just TOO LONG. I mean, c'mon--it's a woman who moves in with a guy and his freakin' kids! How long do you really need to tell that story?!?
'k, I'm done.
