Do you clean, too?

I have to admit that I am a neat freak!...I do try to keep all of our belongings as straightened as possible, but w/ 5 people in a room, it can become overwhelming at times. I don't make the beds though...I try to refrain from housekeeping while on vacation as much as possible. But, I have been guilty of wiping surfaces w/ disinfectant (phone, light switches, door knobs, TV remote, sinks, toilet, etc) - I just can't help myself!!! :D

Don't laugh, but I clean the room when we get there. I disinfect the bathrooms and remote and all of that the very first day. I don't want someone getting sick if I can keep from it.

I also clean the room each morning before we leave and I try to keep it clean all of the time. With five of us, it can be a task but to stay organized I have to do it. :)

I am the same way. I bring a container of Clorox disinfecting wipes with us and everything gets wiped before I let the family touch anything. :)

I tidy things up everyday, like keeping the dirty laundry in a certain spot and organzing the stuff by the sink. Otherwise, I leave the beds and such to be done by mousekeeping.

One odd thing I do at the parks is pick up after slobs who throw their trash on the ground. If I see a water bottle or ice cream wrapper on the grounf or in a bush, I'll put it in the trash.

I do that too! I feel like once I notice it, it's my obligation to discard it in it's proper place or I am just as guilty as the original offender. :hammer:

I don't clean, but I definitely tidy. I worry that something left on the bed (or on the floor near it) will accidentally get knocked of kicked and we'll never find it.

Not to turn this into an OCD support group, but I also self bus tables at restaurants. I stack all the dishes in size order when we're finished so the staff doesn't need to lean around us to get them.

I do not tidy up the room in any way. I am not really a messy person though, so it isn't an issue.
I put the used towels in a pile on the floor, but I don't make the bed in any way.
I don't have anything else laying around the room though. Clothes are put away, there are a few items on the bathroom counter, but that is it. Not much to tidy up.

Same. Part of what I'm paying for is the room being cleaned for me. If I'm messier than usual, I'll up the tip for the week.

I never make a mess and I only let the maid into my room to collect towels, change the bed once a week and make me washcloth animals daily.

We have always cleaned up before we depart. Clothes must be put away, beds made, etc. Probably a waste of our time while on vacation, but we try to leave the room in a "presentable" state. Makes the room (and vacation) more relaxing upon returning for the evening.

I'm with others who "tidy" the room a little before leaving, but don't come anywhere close to "cleaning" it before heading out for the day.

I'm one who tends to kick the covers off as I sleep, so I'll at least make sure they're picked up and tossed onto the bed in the general direction they're supposed to be. By no means do I actually MAKE the bed properly.

Trash always goes into the wastebaskets.

I usually use a bottom drawer of the dresser for dirty clothes, so I don't have a pile of stuff building up in the corner.

Towels are either hung up if they're to be reused, or towels to be replaced are at least gathered together in one lump either in the tub or in the corner of the floor next to the tub.

This sounds like me. The only thing is I put the dirty clothes in a big bag that I brought. That way don't have to pack them at the end of the trip.

I don't make the beds but I do pull the covers up instead of leaving them wadded up and messy. I make sure that garbage is in the garbage and counters and tables are tidy. I also put all of my dirty towels in one pile and keep dirty clothes in a seperate laundry bag. These are things I would like to think that most people do. To leave a mess and say that's what the maids are for is just rude to me.

I pretty much do the same thing! I pile the kids stuffed animals on one bed, fold up pjs, pick everything up off the floor, etc.

The only thing I leave lying around is wet swim suits (if we're been swimming) but I'll usually hang them over the line in the bathroom or over the backs of the chairs!
