@Surferboy567 - How do you deal with hydration, etc on these long distances? In my city we have fountains all over with drinkable water, so I’ve gotten myself out of the habit of carrying a bottle like I did when I first started running.

Thanks, but my question was more one of interest on how he dealt with it for his long virtual races. I do know that hydration vests exists, but don’t recall @Surferboy567 speaking about one.

You’d be correct I use a running belt called UrPower it’s basically a glorified pack with two water bottles on both ends. The compartment in the middle is where I put my phone. Each bottle can store a little under half a bottle of water, so I can carry about a little less then a bottle of water with me on long runs and virtual races. It’s about stretching that little less of a bottle of water over a long period of time. I have thought about hydration vests but I don’t have one myself.

I'd highly recommend getting an hydration vest when doing your first on property race. I tend to use the cups of water to pour over my head.

Looking at the forecast, Princess will be warm again this year. Mid to upper 80s for highs, so once that sun comes.... And humidity in the upper 50s.

what's an Expo pass? I honestly haven't been paying attention because I'm not running but since I'm WORKING the expo on Thursday...
It's a pretend ticket to get into a building where they don't check tickets at the expo. I think the idea is that is would dissuade people from bringing guests to buy up merch or something. But it would only stop newcomers from bringing a bunch of family with them.

so it's just for the arena where merch is? or for the entire WWOS complex?

To get into the Fieldhouse to pick up your bibs and the Arena to purchase runDisney pre-ordered items, I would think. I don't remember having to show it to get into the Visa Center where vendors are located.

As I'm a Platinum Club member, my bibs and race shirts pickup was upstairs at the Arena. And I took the elevator downstairs to get my pre-ordered merchandise. And I needed to show my membership card for access.

It's not clear, but there was nobody checking for a pass anywhere. The language indicated it would be needed to go and pick up the packet, but people who've not been there before wouldn't know/assume that the merch, packets, and vendors are spread out in different places.

"You'll need this pass to access the Expo at this week's Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and pick up your Runner's Packet, including your necessary runner's bib(s)."

Thank you both. I'm scheduled to work bib pick-up but not sure if I'll be in the arena or field house. I am, however, going to ask if I can have access to "shop" before the doors open (my shift starts at 8am Thursday) so I might actually get some merch before it's gone.

Which is why it is important to read the digital guide....

Bib pickup is in the Field House.

runDisney race merchandise and pre-ordered items are in the Arena.

Race shirts and gear bag pickup is in the Visa Center. Which is also where the vendors are.

People who are driving to the races need to read the guide as parking for the Half will be at Hollywood Studios, not Epcot.

If you are working bib pickup, you should be in the Field House. I believe only W&D bib pickup is in the Arena as its the smallest of race weekends. At least that's what I was told one year when I asked.

I can't remember if I had to show my Expo pass to enter the Visa Center to pick up vendor merchandise.

@Demarke, did you have to show yours to get into both the Field House and Visa Center to get your bibs and shirts for Marathon weekend?

RUMOR has it - everything will be in the arena - RUMOR - I'll find out Thursday AM I guess

Really? That's not what the guide says. And that would be a major cluster for Princess weekend. 🤦🏻‍♀️

I went to both the W&D Expo and Marathon Expo - granted not on opening day - and never had to show a ticket or anything coz I wasn't running. I wasn't in costume either so...?

And not wearing your CM badge?

I swear, consistency needs to be added to rD's vocabulary.

I understand using a pass to get into the Arena to purchase rD merchandise - cuts down on all the eBay resellers snapping up the merchandise before runners can. But to pick up your bib and race shirt?
