With the half starting in the parking lot and not on the road like is has the in past, will there be a difference in number of start groups or even the size of starts compared to the 10K & 5K?
doubtful but I have no idea. I think the number of start groups is based on the number of runners, right?

Got my schedule for Princess - I'm working bib pick-up on Thursday from 8a-430p

I don't know where I'm at on race-days until I get there in the morning but if you're at the Expo - come see me!

230a-8a on 5k day
145a-830a on 10k day

Sunday the 27th's schedule isn't out yet but it'll be similar to Friday/Saturday

What is spectating like at the finish line now that they are no longer doing ChEARS? I looked on the guide for more info, but it simply tells you where and what time. Is it now just first come, first serve? Can you still view right at the finish line?

You can, they have bleachers set up that are first come first serve.

Make sure you leave plenty of extra time to make it through bag check prior to getting to the finish line area. My family has missed me many times because of it. It’s much better now, with the new scanners, but it adds an extra walk when you’re already rushing and might not be expecting it.

Thank you, and @Rteetz, for the reply. I'm only planning on watching from the finish line this time. Last time I almost missed him when I watched from MK as well. He's only gotten faster, so I'm not taking any chances! I'll be there when they open up the viewing section!

Today, I ran the 2022 Virtual Princess Half Marathon. The reason I did it this week as opposed to next is because this aligns better with my training schedule for Springtime Surprise. This virtual race marks the last virtual race I am registered for before Springtime Surprise. It has been a long journey to get to this point but we are almost there.

The race today I wanted to take it easier on purpose then normal. Last month when I ran the virtual half that didn’t go as well as I had hoped so I wanted to insure that during today’s race I’d be able to finish. As such it is far from my fastest time but overall I am happy with the results. Running a half marathon even when you have done many is never a small feat. I experimented with Hydration today throughout the run by staggering my water over a wider period of time. That seemed to work, it didn’t have that much of a difference but as I learned last time it’s very important to have hydration during a race virtual or not. Anyways here are the results from today’s race.

Time: 02:51:36
Distance: 13.12
Avg Pace: 13:04

This time doesn’t even come close to my record however, like I said overall I am satisfied with today’s results. Now I continue to train like normal until Springtime Surprise.

EDIT: Results cannot be posted till February 24th but I have the run logged and ready to post the results when I am able.

@Surferboy567 - How do you deal with hydration, etc on these long distances? In my city we have fountains all over with drinkable water, so I’ve gotten myself out of the habit of carrying a bottle like I did when I first started running.
