Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend

I’m a walker but not one of those “bad” walkers. Follow race etiquette and keep to the right unless I need to pass. Never walk more than two across. I’ve worked two years to get my pace to 15min. Walked the 1/2 at W&D with a couple stops and finished ahead of the balloon ladies. Had a goal to do a 1/2 marathon so that race checked it off my list. This princess weekend is going to be my one and only try at a challenge medal and getting a picture in front of the castle but last Monday I pulled my right hamstring. I’m devastated. At 65, double knee replacement and RA it’s just a lot for me to train for a 1/2 marathon. Maybe I’ll skip the 10k and try to hang in there long enough during the 1/2 to get through MK for my picture.

So I didn’t even try the Princess 10k or 1/2 because my hamstring was still hurting. Managed a slow 5k with my niece who was 38 weeks pregnant. Decided to give running through the castle another try and at the last minute I signed up for the 1/2 during marathon weekend. My plan is to find a local half in October and keep in shape over the holidays enough to do the half in January.

Disney IT hamsters/rubber bands strikes again. I was online 15 minutes before 10am and couldn't get the site to load. Then finally got the "registration not open yet" page that said IT WOULD REFRESH WHEN REGISTRATION OPENED AND NEVER DID. I'm now in over an hour queue waiting for the 5k which I'm sure will be sold out

It is sold out.

I'm trying for Sunrise Yoga as I already registered for the races via Club runDisney.

Looking to do a 5k in 2027 - do I need to sign up for RunDisney or will the public on sale work? Will these sell out on the on sale date? Any info is appreciated for a newbie!

No you do not need to sign up for Club runDisney. That in itself may not even help you.

General registration dates were just announced today. June 2nd will be Princess and it will open at 10AM EST.

The 5K will sell out on registration day. The 5K and 10K are usually the first to go. Be online and logged in right away at 10.

The only Club runDisney membership levels that include early registration are Platinum and Gold.

You need to be a current Club rD member to register for races. 2027 Princess Half Weekend races registration is in June 2026....in fact ALL the 2027 races are registering in 2026. So only current Platinum and Gold members (membership is from January 1st to December 31st) will be able to register early for 2027 races.

When Club runDisney membership opens to the general public later this year, there are few spots available at either Platinum or Gold for new members.

Unless you're a current Platinum or Gold member, you will wait until general registration begins a week after early registration opens.
