Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend

Demarke

Have I told you lately that I 👍 you?
all the races are open again: 5K, 10K, Half and Challenge
Good catch! Reading your post led me to check Springtime Surprise since my crowd that’s not doing the challenge wanted spots in the 5K and they’re all open too! Thanks, I got them registered!!

Edit: 10 minutes later and the Springtime Surprise 5k and Challenge are back sold out; 10k and 10-miler still open. I imagine they may be likely to reopen periodically if they allow Covid cancellations.

Fellow virtual runners, bibs should have shown up in your accounts. I am only running the virtual Princess half so it may be different since I’m not running the challenge but all bibs should be in your accounts.

Yo.........PLEASE pay attention to this:

Self-Parking

For Runners participating in the Princess Half Marathon on Sunday, Self-parking will be at Disney’s Hollywood Studios followed by bus transportation to EPCOT where the race will Start. Bus transportation begins at 2:30 a.m. and runners must be on a bus from either Disney’s Hollywood Studios or Walt Disney World Resorts, Shades of Green, and the Swan and Dolphin Resorts by 4:00 a.m. If not, runners could miss the access to Start or experience significant delays getting to their Start Group. Self-parking will not be available at Epcot on Sunday for any runners or spectators. As a reminder, face coverings are required on all Disney transportation.

For Runners participating in the 5K and 10K, parking is available at Epcot.

Only change I found was the half starts in the parking lot vs. on the road but this is due to road construction.

Thank god for small things. We didn't need a 2 mile hike on top of the 2 mile hike from park entrance to staging area. Hopefully the starting line change will cut down on corral jumpers. Plus, it was too dark back on that road.

Want to dive into this a little further a little later but are their any major changes to the course?

It doesn’t really matter for me, since I’m just waiting on Springtime Surprise. Participating in the Virtual Princess Half.

Hope everyone going in person has a great time!
EPCOT Center west is under construction all the way to world drive. Looks to be the same 10k and half course as marathon weekend as it usually is but with starting in the EPCOT parking lot vs. the woodpecker way walk-out/EPCOT center drive staging/starting areas

Was just looking at the course map for the 10K. Not sure if this is always been the case but from my research it seems this is new. The 10K has more time in HWS. Instead of just running though a small part of sunset blvd it seems you now run all the way down sunset blvd down to the main exit. Not the biggest change but more park time seems better.

Wonder if this is a sign that Springtime Surprise will feature more HWS time.

The Princess 10K has never gone through DHS, at least not since I started running it in 2017. It's been that loop around Epcot. Wonder if the course change is because, as @DznyGrlSD mentioned, part of Epcot Center Drive is under construction.

We've always entered DHS back behind ToT, run down Sunset Blvd to Hollywood Blvd then down Hollywood to the park's entrance, taken that left to run along the water to the Boardwalk then to Epcot through the International Gateway. But that was usually for a Half.

Oh, joy, we get to run that congested path for the 10k... 🤦🏻‍♀️

I should've said the 10K course is the same as it was for Marathon Weekend this year. This 10K course debuted then and will continue for Princess.
