Disney's Hollywood Studios Name Change

This must be them trying to rig the survey results. Cinemagic is the only one outside of the current name that even remotely works, so they'll be able to say "this one tested better than all other names by such and such percent . . ." or something like that.

I refuse to believe some of these are seriously in contention for the name of the park. They are too ridiculous.

Don't have time to look up the trademarks right now, but, there's a movie theater chain with the name 'Cinemagic.' I can't fathom how 'Disney Cinemagic' won't be challenged.

"...world-renowed Characters...". Do you have to capitalize 'characters' ? I think that's wrong. Wonder if Disney would make such a mistake... :)

Theses names...I can't. I really can't. Hollywood Studios, Hollywood Adventure, maybe even something like a Movie Magic. Otherwise, my word who ever suggested these should be slapped with a dead fish.

Sorry. Can't stop laughing at some of those.
Wouldn't surprise me that whatever one was laughed at the hardest will be the new name.

But seriously, I'd put my money on "none of the above". They have known what the name was going to be for ages now. They aren't talking about it because it was already determined and there mind is made up. We don't want to confuse them with facts. That said, though I'm hoping when it is released, we all collectively look at it and say. Of course, why didn't we think of that.

So... Cinemagic.

There is a brand of theaters called 'Cinemagic' that has 8 IMAX theaters in New England. They have trademarked the name. Whether "Disney Cinemagic (Park)" could withstand a trademark challenge, I don't know. There's also a few other trademark uses of "Cinemagic", but they deal with audio systems, so, there is no trademark confusion there.

"Disney Cinemagic" has never been trademarked... in the U.S. There was for a short time a Disney channel in France called Disney Cinemagic which has since changed names.

I feel like I'm the only one that thinks it doesn't really need to be changed.

Mark me down too. If they want to get rid of "Studios", just call it Disney's Hollywood Park or, if they must, Hollywood Adventure. I would imagine though, that they are wanting to get rid of Hollywood from the name altogether. Believe it or not that word is a bit of a political hot button to a certain segment of people these days (just read the comments section on Variety or Hollywood Reporter when a story is linked on a certain news aggregator site). Why those people would even want to go to a park based on movies that they hate makes no sense to me, but a lot of things don't make sense to me anymore.

But those names on that alleged survey are just hilariously awful.

Why not Disney's Movie Kingdom?

I do have to admit that what the park has become and what it will become is kind of hard to pin down to a simple marketable name, which goes to show how thematically lost it is....but surely there's something better than that list. I suppose Cinemagic would be ok, but even it seems a little esoteric for the average modern parkgoer. The term "cinema" is used much more widely in the UK than in the US.

Can they replace "Park" with "Kingdom" at the end of any of these names?

What if they end up replacing them all with Kingdom? Haha- that would be weird. I am stull surprised Epcot has kept it name for so long- I am glad it has- but it seems like something modern suits would have challenged by now.
