Hey guys! Long-time no-talk! I don't post as much as I use to, but I sure do miss y'all! Anyway, I'm too lazy to read 8 pages, so this may have been suggested -- and shot down -- but I was thinking, what about this?

Now don't be all cynical an s---, like some of you use to be when I was a kid. This is just casual conversation here, haha.

We might have a winner here, After all we have synergy and merchandise which we can now sell in TWO venues and the naming and creative work is already DONE>

I would advocate against the use of "Hollywood" in its name as the majority of film production in the US occurs outside of southern California. While the actresses and actors may still congregate there, its becoming increasingly a historical relic.

They could buy another franchise and call it Hollyrock...

So, for the first time since I can remember, it feels like the company is actually investing in the parks, well 3 anyway. I have not trusted that all the updates were a sign of bigger things to come that is until the info revealed in this meeting yesterday. It is great to feel at least a little bit like they care that the investments happening down R4 might have a longer term impact on these parks. That said, the greatest park in the world and a small representation of the founder's dream still goes largly ignored. That ignorance will only get worse with the "Frozen" makeover. It will seem like the park has really great attendance numbers, therefore they do not need to spend money on the park. It really is hard to believe that one ride makeover could actually steer investment away from this park. Just imagine if a refreshed Horizon, original JII, current TT, Refreshed Seas,Land,UOE,SSE and original but updated Communicor all lived in the same park as "Frozen".

Hmm Disney purchasing or licensing Hanna-Barbera interesting ... nice catalog of children friendly and recognizable characters as well Adults thanks to TNT's Adult Swim. The Great Movie Ride sponsorship might just be the first toes in the water.

I don't understand this. Why change the park's name again after 7 years? I still don't call DHS DHS, I still call it MGM and always will. I understand that the first reason why they changed the name was because MGM and Disney didn't agree on licensing and other legal works. Let's face it even Universal Studios Orlando doesn't use it's studios. At most universal gets used for local commercials but thats all. DHS has not been used for years, kind of upset about them shutting down the backlot tour which had been cut dramatically and now another name change. I'm kind of getting mad at Hollywood Studios as if it wasn't getting boring enough. four major attractions doesn't really count. Sure the GMR is a huge icon now that the hats gone but it's not a major ride. It's a definite must do but it isn't much. I like the ideas that most of you have put out there, but i'm sure theres people who agree that a second name change isn't exactly what they were thinking about the WDW's third gate.

I can't see the park being called Disney's Florida Adventure, I feel like that would make it a park about Florida's history and no. I'd really prefer Disney's Hollywood Adventure over the former. That being said, I'm looking forward to what they come up with.

Would be too hard to retheme the good areas of the park that are all California Hollywood themed, such as the entrance street, Sunset Boulevard & Hollywood Tower Hotel. Disney Springs is being given a loose Florida theme.

If anything DHS will just become Disney Hollywood Adventure. So it will celebrate "classic Hollywood" with the main street, Great Movie Ride, Tower of Terror, Brown Derby etc. New Disney properties such as Star Wars and Pixar as well as Disney Junior.

Personally I think they just need to expand on all they have, more Star Wars, more Disney Junior, more Muppets and definitly more Pixar.
Remove anything that relates to movie making such as Lights Moteurs Actions. or at least change the show so it is not about how it is done. eg Indiana Jones uses "extras" from the audience and shows how stunts are done, whereas Sinbad at Islands of Adventure is just a stunt show.

I think Universal Florida still uses the studios more than Disney does!

How about:

'Disney's Half Day Adventure!'
Haha exactly, I mean whats the point of changing the name if there really is nothing much to do at the park. Even if you added 6 more rides, it still would be only a half day park for how limited the space is. I mean the park was never designed to be a true theme park. They designed it to be a true working studio. Therefore they could make rides like the backlot tour that took up 1/4 of the park or the GMR which takes up a generous portion of the park and get away with it. But try to build a new roller coaster or something today and there is no space. If disney wants to build more star wars build a new park from the ground up or shut down DHS entirely and redevelop don't do a half job and call the park Star Wars land when you still have TSMM, RR, TT, and Indiana Jones, and the Stunt Show which thank god when it is on takes away the crowds from the Walk ways of the park.

How about coming up with a ancient rune looking symbol, slap a pair of ears on it and say it is pronounced "The Park Formerly Known as MGM"?

True in some ways it still does things but it was intended to make blockbusters not some made for tv movie. But it does, I think Disney had a good idea with the MGM concept but it never took flight, Florida has nasty Tax credits for filmmakers thats why no one uses the studios and rather go up to the state up north, the Peach state, Georgia.
