How cool would if be to have a Disneyland in New York, Boston, Chicago or even Canada. Bundling up watching wishes during a snow storm. That would be something to remember. Have heated walkways. I live on long island so I say build here as ling as the pine barons are safe. I rather them build one on grumman instead of industrial. I rather that than industrial buildings. Just a cool thought. I made this post before and tryed to lock it because the subject would get nowhere. It was rumored that they would build one on long island but the idea was turned down. I would be able to ride a bike there in 30 or less minits. Not saying they should make one in every state that would ruin the eqzisting ones Just one located for a totally diferent experience.

And in Houston, or San Antonio... and maybe in Virginia, or the Carolinas... perhaps add one in Chicago!

Nah. The most Disney is going to have up that way is a store.

With snow the trash disaster from after the snow melts alone would make it look bad with the way people toss stuff on the grounds. You also would have trouble having outdoor rides due to the winter months and bitter cold and snow/sleet/ice possibilities.

They were gonna build in Virginia a few years back, but the folks there didn't want a theme park next to the battlefields, so they skipped that idea.

Oh I remember that. It would have been in my backyard just about. I was a kid so of course at the time I was all for it...but now I can see why they complain....

Still a cool thought.

Nah. I live in the northeast myself, and there's something special about taking that flight to FL to go to Disney. After that snow is gone and wishes is over, the effect i'm sure would quickly be gone. That wouldn't be "pixie dust" all over your shoes and on the ground and basically everywhere, it would be rock salt debris. The majority of Disney deals with the outdoors (ie shows, many queues, rides). It's a neat concept, but for me, i wouldn't go, nor have any interest in the idea... but to each his own

God bless the "Ignore" button.
Dude, this is the second thread you've started on this subject. It had a run of a few pages, then died off. That's what threads do. You don't need to start a new one for the same subject.

What part of Long Island??

I would love for Disney to be less than an hour away with no flight or anything but the traffic in NY would increase ridiculously and i would probably sell my car because of it. Also from mid November-March no one would go probably.

Totally agree. I'm from Edmonton Alberta and one of the reasons to head to Disneyland or Disney World is to get away from the cold and snow that our long winters bring.

From a convenience stand point, it would be great to have a park in or near Canada but the climate will never allow it.

I'm more than satisfied with heading some place nice and warm for a little Disney magic even if it does make travel a little tougher.

We had DisneyQuest in chicago....You can tell how much that worked....

I think its non-descript location killed it. That and it was pricey.

Walt Disney looked at various places in the north when deciding on where to build Diswney World, including Niagara Falls. The inability to be able to successfully operate the park in the winter made him look to warmer climates. I'm under the impression that Disney World was almost set for St. Louis until a local businessman chastised Walt for not wanting to serve alcohol.
