Disney World jabs in Shrek 4!

I love all the Shrek movies, and IMO they have gotten better with each one! I know most people think the opposite, but I have been a big fan of Shrek since the start.

Ok can we not escalate this into more opinion wars?

Shrek was fine, never cared for the rest, and if Rotten Tomatoes shows anything, DremWorks should move on beyond wringing out more money from a dead corpse* and develop more unique properties (like Dragon).

*If anyone argues TS3, especially after TS2, is this I will lose all respect for you forever.

I wish that Star Wars Crawl Creator still existed...I would have totally done Opinion Wars.

*Ha! yeah.

Waaait a second! I am one of THE truest fans!!! I'm one of those who really believes that there is pixie dust in the air, tears up at almost ANYTHING Disney, and has been to Disney 30 times over the past 15 years. I'm also the one who really feels bad for going to Univeral Orlando! I feel like I'm cheating when I go there!! lol! I could keep going on with reasons that I am a true Disney fan lol. But just b/c I laugh at jokes against Disney doesn't mean that I'm not a true fan!

I really do love it more that anything. I just think that if you really love something, that you should have a sense of humor about it.

Just sayin.....:D

You're also the same poster who in a recent thread was advocating a Hannah Montana or Lady Gaga retheme for RNR, so, yeah.........:ROFLOL:

I guess you're entitled to your own opinion, but you should really consider the fact that pretty much the whole world is against you. Not saying you should always side with the majority, but...
Either way, I'm surprised no one has mentioned how great How To Drain Your Dragon was. I honestly think it may give a Pixar film or two a run for their money.

You cannot like the Disney-hate jokes if you are a true Disney-fan. I'm sorry you're not a true fan. You probably dont even believe in Disney magic!!

Sigh...

Of course you can laugh at Disney jokes if you are a fan...unless you are a closed minded fan boy wearing blinders.

I wasn't actually suggesting the Gaga thing, that's only in my dream world lol. As for Hannah...She is a Disney artist, so the fact that I endorse her replacing a non-Disney band should not hurt my credibility as a Disney fan!

I think your wrong Timmay. I am a real Disney fan and I have opening-day souvenirs from Epcot. I know what all of the windows on Main Street say. I know where all the Hidden MIckeys are on the Great Movie Ride. And I can tell you what all the trash cans look like in WDW. So I know what it means to be real Disney fan. If you laugh at Disney and make fun of Disney you cannot be a fan. This is why Universal is making more money than Disney now. because of jokes like in Shrek.

But if you can't laugh about yourself, what can you laugh at?

And Universal really doesn't make fun of Disney as much as everyone thinks.

I realize this isn't a poll per se, but I just wanted to say that I'm a Disney fan who's all for Dreamworks picking on Disney. The Underdogs ALWAYS pick on the winners. When Cars 2 has a joke making fun of Madagascar or something like that, THAT'S when we all need to worry.

Seriously? Nothing is off-limits when it comes to humor. If you can't laugh at yourself you take yourself WAY to seriously. If you take Disney more seriously than yourself, that's just sad.

I totally disagree with what you're saying. Possessing knowledge doesn't automatically equate to being a fan of something. True, being a fan often leads to a desire to want to know more, but a person can know about all of these things you've described without being a fan. It's just a matter of memorizing information. That says nothing about a person's love of something.

On the other hand, if you can see the humor in something and be able to laugh at it without taking it too seriously, then I think that shows tremendous security in one's own love and dedication to something. I think if you cannot enjoy a visit to Universal, for example, without feeling "guilty", then that says more about your insecurity regarding how much of a fan you are.

Of course you can laugh at Disney. I do it all the time.

Dreamworks' Disney jokes are just part of a steaming monkey pile of s*%tire that I'm just done touching with a ten-foot cattle prod.
