I'd be sad to see Planet Hollywood go, as I always have visited it on vacations. It's been one of the longest residents at Downtown Disney. I know some probably dislike it, but I always enjoyed it.

Finally, a public sighting of George. I wonder if he's had any plastic surgery done ... or maybe some BOTOX being that he's been living the REAL OC lifestyle for three years.

What I wonder is have the bloggers and social media parasites been invited. Since this is being run by the Burbank gang, one would hope not.

First Question -- Lou Mongello, WDWRadio -- ''You guys have done such a MAGICal job in reimagineering Downtown Disney and everyone from 9-99 is just gonna love it ... Heck, this project practically sings Disney showtunes. Speaking of which, do you prefer 'Under the Sea' or 'Be Our Guest'?''
Hard news.

Disney almost has no night life whatsoever. Most resort bars are closed up by 11 or 11:30 ... Rix at CS, which I haven't been to, is apparently quite successful because of all those trapped conventioneers. I'm not saying WDW should be Vegas, LA or SoBe ... but having resort bars open until 1 or 2 a.m. seems fair.
We loved that bar when we used to stay there. We have a bunch of stories from that place, it was always hopping when a convention let out at night. And the bartenders have some great stories too, once they get to know you.

The setup is similar to what I thought should be done. They needed to have retail space that linked the two sides, that would allow PI to be gated again, without any obstructions. Also garages were going to be needed.

If the design was more New Orleans than boardwalk / GF clone, I think people would be more receptive.

It doesn't seem to be going, its just getting a revamp.

I wonder if Donald Trump would fund PI?
Yeah but then I'd need to boycott it.

Are you saying Disney leaked the news to Steve? Or that he was the only one who knew this was coming? Take a look at who started this thread, old buddy. ... And I was told there's info on the Hub regarding this announcement, so every CM and their friends and families and bloggers should know.
There is nothing on the hub or any cast communication about this so far.

You attack me and 33 minutes later Disney breaks the news through Steve. My optimism is not without cause.

So let that be a lesson to you and those who think as you do.

Now if you will excuse me I am off to celebrate in VindicationLand.

OK, that is my gloat of the week. Heh.

I'm curious, how'd Hyperion Wharf and the FL high-speed rail projects turn out for you?

And isn't hard to feel vindication for a project you'll never see in person?

High speed rail would make sense if we were not on the cusp of personal self-navigating cars and planes. That technology is emerging faster than anyone could have anticipated.

Hyperion Wharf is still happening. It is just that now it will be renamed and newer, bolder and with sparkling new parking complexes. Seems they took my advice and added those. Happy to help.

That technology is just so wasteful. Having lived abroad and in NYC most of my life I just can't believe everyone else feels like they need their own personal vehicle especially over great distances. So wasteful.

High speed rail is as dead as your thread on the subject...

And the HW concept is also dead, in case the title of this (and other) threads confused you.

You do not get my take on things and you never will. I take great comfort in knowing this. Keep up the good work.
