Disney Scanning Fastpasses

My guess is it would be due to rampant abuse of the system. People can't easily come in with fastpasses from days, weeks, or even months earlier any longer.

Uhhhh, not sure when/where this is being done, but it certainly was not being done at Epcot or DHS when I was there on Saturday (Nov. 29). Could someone help me out here? Did I miss something? :veryconfu

You make it sound like people had inch or two thick stacks of fastpasses and readmits in their pockets...... :lookaroun

Exactly as others have said, it is to attempt to stop fraud, the new tickets have bar codes with with tell the cast member if the pass has already expired.

lol, I did. :lookaroun:lookaroun Nah, jk. But lets just say I did things with fp that I know I shouldnt have, my dad often teases me saying that all these changes are because of things I did.

But on the real, can anyone really confirm this? Is this like a late or early April fools joke or something?

does this mean they are acutally enforcing the fast pass window of time as well? if so.. it's about damn time... Peter Pan might actually be rideable now..

For the same reason why they used the FLICK system...
Actually, it's still some sort of a FLICK system, but without the red card...

Whatcha you talkin' bout' Corrus?
*laugh track*

FLIK machines and the red FLIK cards are still very much in use.

Amazing that PPF which is 30+ Y/O and still needs FP just to ride it without waiting 2 hours in standby. (I personally love PPF with or without the foil volcano treatment)

They weren't scanning fastpasses at the Safaris, Soarin, or Space Mountain today. They weren't scanning fastpasses at DHS yesterday. What rides are they doing this at?

They don't need to scan the FPs to change the de-facto policy of allowing late same-day returns. They could just change the policy.

It seems more likely that this is just a data-collection effort, tracking fastpass redemption.
