I don't understand? If it is so terrible, why do they keep promoting the people that have run these places? These are competent professionals that know what they're doing.

If you believe the notion that DAK is the least popular/desired among the four parks, and Epic (or cost increases) will cut somewhat down on where people go, there’s a wisdom in sacrificing DAK to keep the rest above water and running optimally.
Which is why a reskin of Dinosaur and vague details on What, Exactly, is happening with the Encanto (attraction? Experience?) are interesting.

If they close Dinosaur, that’s a dumb decision imo and even worse if they close it before opening anything else up. Rides are already limited at AK, they shut down the entire dinoland area that already lost a ride a few years ago, AK gates will slow down even more for the next 3-5 years while Uni benefits from a new park

Dinosaur can be flipped quickly. It’s likely one of the most wasted potential e-tickets next to Imagination. The latter doesn’t have a rough blueprint though to flip towards.
Animal Kingdom is going to limp along regardless, but getting a night show in and Dinosaur flipped in 24 months can help.

Disney converted Splash into Tiana in less than 1.5 years, more than doable to fill that time with more than enough entertainment/festivals to entertain APs. My hope is that whatever additional attractions they have planned, come online quickly after that in succession.
