Wasn't most of DCA also closed down when they turned that park around? If they deliver like they did there I'm all for a few years of terrible navigating and closures for the greater good.

Similar to Star Tours or maybe more like the new Avatar ride? Better not be like Mission:Space.

Imagine a Star Tours pod for six people. Now imagine 7 of them arranged on the Carousel of progress. Now imagine 4 Carousels of Progress in one giant building.

The carousel makes one turn for the whole length of the ride, so, you won't feel any centripetal force... just a lot of simulation-jostling.

Someone with the power at WDW, please come to your senses, build the Mickey ride where Launch Bay is(the M&G's can be moved & the rest of it is useless), and give GMR the love it desperately needs....unless of course they are penny pinching the daily ops budget, and just cant continue to operate GMR in addition to the Mickey attraction.

How dare me ask that DHS approach a whopping total of ten rides? I should be stoned for such a ridiculous thought. GMR...off with your head!

I'm sad. :(

As sad as early DCA was, it wasn't for a lack of attractions. While there were a lot of walls, most of the attractions remained operational throughout. It's crazy that DHS actually fell to old DCA standards in the meantime. There's no doubt better days are ahead, but it's hard to argue that the park won't still need more once the dust settles.

DCA 1.0 and current DHS both have significant issues, but in far different ways. DHS actually has a solid group of headliners and the SW additions should only enhance that. What DHS lacks is to be "fleshed out" with a number of B-, C-, and D-tickets to fill out a day. It also depends very heavily on shows which tend to have lower repeat value and compounds this by not changing the shows often enough.

DCA always had a decent amount of rides and overall attractions, but it lacked sufficient headliners or anything that made the park particularly unique. A lot of the attractions were pretty uninspiring flat rides. And some of the offerings were particularly bad.

I never experienced DCA 1.0, but the current layout is awesome, we loved it, its like a WDW Greatest Hits park. Sure they have a few rides that are similar (flat/spinners) but at least they have both quantity and substance at their park. DCA is full day park no question. Even after Star Wars and Toy Story get added to DHS, we still need 1 more land and 1 headlining show of the same caliber as Frozen at DCA, for the parks to be of equal caliber IMO. I feel that what we're getting is a good start but we still need more to round out the park and make it a full day.

This has so much potential. Looking forward to this more than any other rumored adds.
Not at the cost of GMR though. If Disney ends up making this a new build that will prove that they use common sense. Why would they spend 100+ Million to cut the capacity of an already popular attraction? I'm sure it will be a splendid ride, but there really cannot be a drastic cost difference to get rid of a classic ride in a park that somehow has worse ride capacity problems than the MK.

I am still unclear about what we should generally expect regarding the scale and quality of this attraction. Should we be expecting something at the level of Mystic Manor, for example?

Similarly, will this be redundant with Alcatraz (so that it's fated to be viewed as a similar-but-far-inferior experience), or will it stand on its own due to substantial differences in approach?

Very similar in that it is an lps attraction that blends screens with sets and animatronics. Difference here is the IP in question which can make a world of a difference in terms of scenes. I am sure length's are different as well. But from what I have been reading here it seems like a quality attraction.
