Yep. Hannah Barbara then Jimmy Neutron.

Hanna Barbera... the one ride my whole family loved at Universal.. the others were lackluster to us..but we enjoyed the Hitchcock attraction..haven't been to this park since the 90s but it might become our new studio park in place of HS if ToT and Movie Ride are on the chopping block..I'm a nerd for Potter and haven't seen these glorious lands yet

I've said it before, and I still think it's the best "cheap" overlay option for GotG- Star Tours replacement. They could keep a lot of the basic futuristic framework of the current theme, and a lot can be done with a simulator. Considering it's possible Star Tours leaves when SWL opens, this seems like a relatively easy and cheap way to go.

Sorry..this makes too much sense..

So wait... Guardians in Epcot is an overlay of energy... I thought that, like the proposed Mickey ride, was going to be a gut and rebuild kind of job. Instead its going to somehow feature the Guardians and ... dinosaurs? Am I reading too much into this? Am I in the entirely wrong thread.
No, no...If GotG do go into the Energy building, it will be much more than an overlay. Much more.

Serious question..does Disney still offer private events in the Great Movie Ride? Could they potentially lose money by closing it? This was offered to us when when we got married and I just can't envision the option changing to a Star Wars environment or the new Mickey ride providing the same space, etc. I am sure they might save because of the cost to run the ride, but still private events are not cheap and seem to be Disney's specialty lately.

Yes they do, but they also offer a lot of other attractions for events so they would likely be able to sell a different location to anyone interested in GMR .

Why not? It's near the lagoon. Retheme Dinoland to the outback. Change landscaping to better integrate the areas together. It could work.
There is a ton of space in the Animal Kingdom for expansion without closing more attractions to make a new area...While I would like an Australia section which has been rumored for more than a decade, there are other places to put it....How about the whole Conservation Station area? Actually make that train ride a journey to someplace amazing...

That's still closing an attraction to make a new area. You might not particularly care for that area, but some do. I personally had a blast petting the goats. Goats are chill.

Ugh. I swear, I've now heard at some point in these Studio threads that practically EVERYTHING still at DHS is rumored to be replaced.

Muppets (it won't last! The show bombed!)
Indy (it's old!)
ToT (it's getting a GOTG overlay!)
RnRR (re-theme!)
Animation Courtyard (buh-bye!)
Star Tours (supposedly closing or relocating)
Mermaid and Beast (new shows!)
And NOW GMR?!

My head hurts. And I want a time machine to visit my favorite park before it all went apesh*t

The new attraction will sadly also have plenty of comparable space for wine and dining.

As it stands there is a thought that Guardians would be more suited here than at Epcot. Which may be true for the park, but not the location.

Yes it's a movie attraction. Yes it's futuristic. But DHS needs all the help it can get, and GMR should be the all encompassing marquee attraction for the park. Which is why it needs to stay as an updated and refreshed GMR. Mickey is a perfect fit for the Art Deco of Sunset, on the Ranch expansion plot. GMR again needs to be the parks anchor. And Guardians could easily fit into a phase 3 elsewhere in DHS in a purpose built building to fit it's environment. It's not an Epcot IP.

But that's the most expensive option. Even if it might be the best.
Is this an actual option or a desire of yours?

Is there an option that exists where UoE receives a Future World relevant replacement, GMR gets update, The Great Mickey Ride goes to Sunset and Guardians goes to a DHS phase 3 as a separate built attraction?
