Ugh. I swear, I've now heard at some point in these Studio threads that practically EVERYTHING still at DHS is rumored to be replaced.

Muppets (it won't last! The show bombed!)
Indy (it's old!)
ToT (it's getting a GOTG overlay!)
RnRR (re-theme!)
Animation Courtyard (buh-bye!)
Star Tours (supposedly closing or relocating)
Mermaid and Beast (new shows!)
And NOW GMR?!

My head hurts. And I want a time machine to visit my favorite park before it all went apesh*t
Star Tours will NOT relocate

There is also a lot of area not part of conservation station...and yes, Goats are chill...lol but wouldn't you rather pet a Wallaby or a Koala?

As it stands there is a thought that Guardians would be more suited here than at Epcot. Which may be true for the park, but not the location.

Yes it's a movie attraction. Yes it's futuristic. But DHS needs all the help it can get, and GMR should be the all encompassing marquee attraction for the park. Which is why it needs to stay as an updated and refreshed GMR. Mickey is a perfect fit for the Art Deco of Sunset, on the Ranch expansion plot. GMR again needs to be the parks anchor. And Guardians could easily fit into a phase 3 elsewhere in DHS in a purpose built building to fit it's environment. It's not an Epcot IP.

But that's the most expensive option. Even if it might be the best.
That would be terrific.

Personally, I'd rather Mousetouille anchored a revamped animation land.

I would think they would use Star Tours as a sort of entry into the whole Star Wars land... take your Star Tours shuttle and arrive on a different planet... But how would they reroute the exit to make it all connect...

Lot's of people have tossed around that idea but I don't see it happening.

He was President of the Disneyland Resort following the dismissal of Paul Pressler and Cynthia Harris. He cleaned up the mess that was the Resort and guided the 50th celebration into something worthwhile. He was pushed out of edit after making it clear that he wanted his boss Jay Rasulo, a man with an open contempt for theme parks, out and himself made Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. After a brief stint at Starwood, Ouimet is now the current CEO of Cedar Fair.

Rescuers is not a franchise.
Three years later and the Rescuers Down Under would have been a straight to VHS release.

I actually don't think this would be a bad idea. But, if they were to do this, wouldn't it make more sense to have the GotG ride over in the same area instead of ToT/Epcot to create a nice superhero area o_O:grumpy:

A superhero version of the Toontown neighborhood would be a lot of fun. It would also take some hard work, creativity, and new build $$$, and... well. Damn, this is depressing.

Use that land for Australia and then there's no need for the train to get to Rafiki's. People have legs. Time to use them.

Looking at that map I'm now wondering where they could put Jungle Book in Asia. Any real expansion space big enough for a nice ride?
Overlay Kali River Rapids. I'm actually not kidding, I've never thought the conservation theme for Kali worked very well.

Yes it would. It's the only way they can have a pseudo "Marvel Land" in WDW. Throw in a new Incredibles E Ticket and it would make for a pretty good land.

But the point of adding the JB ride would be to add more to do.

Maybe over behind Everest to the east a bit? Though I'm not sure how that would interfere with the I themed backside of the mountain.
Well sure, but this is Disney we're talking about. If the goal were to add the IP into AK, their first reaction would be, "what can we replace", not "what can we add". For me personally, because I'm sure there are just as many who have an attachment to the ride, losing the current theme wouldn't be a big deal.

Heck, Incredibles doesn't even have to be an e-ticket if they want to continue to go the cheaper route, just overlay Backlot Express. Boom, nice little land with two rides and a place to eat.

Also, that's a good location for a superhero land- in a hypothetical universe where they would be able to build more marvel stuff, there's a lot of space to be able to expand.
