ok so i am due march 2011 and i want to name my baby after something disney, boy or girl. we obviously dont know what we are having yet because it is too early but i just wanted some ideas. something sort of odd but not too weird. im partial to ariella for a girl, combining ariel and cinderella, but other than that i have no clue. so send me some ideas of your own kids names or just a thought you had! thanks!

Not to be gross but "Ariella" is a lot like "Areola." She would be made fun of incessantly.

Off the top of my head

Jane or Michael the names of the children from Mary Poppins
Ellie or Carl – Fredricksen from “Up”
Mollie or Andy the children from the Toy Story trilogy
Ariel or Eric from the little mermaid

Lillie since Lillian was Walt's wife's name.

I love Ellie! ---as in Frederickson from Up!

Also from Up! you can do Carl, Russell, or Doug (for Dug) for boys' names.

Tia! That's what Tiana's friend, Charlotte, called her. I knew a girl in middle school named Kia (sounds the same as the car but that was waaaaay before the car was around) and loved the name. You could also name a girl Charlotte. That's such a nice name...also makes me think of Charlotte's Web. For short you could call her "Lottie" just like Tiana did.

There's a few ideas! Congrats on your expected bundle o'joy!

I think picking a name inspired by a Disney character is a great idea, especially if you put your own spin on it.

My last name is Bianco, Italian for White, so I looked up the word for Snow in Italian & its 'Neve'. So we decided Neve Bianco is our little spin on Snow White.

Maybe start by listing your favorite Disney movies or attractions at WDW, then put your own flavor on them like combining 2 characters names, etc. You could even do one list for boys & another for girls.

Congrats!!

My daughters' names are Graceanna nicknamed Gracey for short (spelled that way, like Master Gracey of the haunted mansion) and Anastasia, which is obviously Cinderella's stepsister, but we call her Annie for short. Only the true "disney geeks" even get it. We wanted something Disney, but not too obvious.

For the record, Gracey picked the name Anastasia after dining at 1900 Park Fare while I was pregnant, and called the baby in my belly that for months. She was only 2 1/2 at the time, so it was really cute. It just so happened that my husband loved the name, so it stuck.

When you hear the right name, you'll know it! Enjoy the preganancy and good luck!

Funny, we called our baby Voldemort the whole time she was in my wife's stomach. We didn't want to give out her first and middle names (Avonlea Zahorarose) until she was born so we referred to her as "She who shall not be named" and then eventually Voldemort. Of course if you are a HP fan then you'll know that Voldemort was "He who shall not be named."

Great thread...congrats as well! My wife and I are expecting in October and while I thought about trying to tie in a Disney name, she wasn't as fond of the idea so we had to put our heads together for something we both liked.

We have decided on a name however that is kinda Disney-ish...our little girl will be named Ella. Not quite Cinderella, but she will be a princess nonetheless!

My daughters name is Aurora Alice, which everyone thinks we got the name from Disney characters. In all actuality she is named after the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).

If we have more girls they will be Alana and Arista, which are two of Ariel's sisters.

Bella - Belle and Cinderella

I grew up being a huge Sleeping Beauty fan and wanted to name my daughter Aurora, however my husband was so highly opposed to it we named her Ammorett. I still refer to her as my little Sleeping Beauty..... she of course is a huge Belle fan! :)

Ella was the name of the girl in the movie Ella Enchanted. Wasn't that a Disney movie?

For a girl I like Aurora(Sleeping Beauty), Belle(Beauty and the Beast), Anastasia, Alice(Alice in Wonderland), and Jasmine(Aladdin). Jasmine and Aurora are my favorite.
For a boy I like Eric(Little Mermaid), Philip(Sleeping Beauty) and Peter(Peter Pan).
