Serious question-

What would you change to improve event?
I don’t see them doing much this year to change it up. Maybe they’ll try?

-Designated rain locations for characters
-Earlier entry time
-Several credential dispersement locations
-No rotating the VIPs with another VIP
Mickey’s line, Minnie’s line etc
-Some other classic characters
-A holiday cavalcade

- Increase staff to handle crowd - shouldn't take 30 mins to get credentials or 30 mins to get a premixed drink

- improve crowd management for the main shows. Either let people book a time in the app or I've out time slots when you enter or something. People shouldn't have to wait an hour for one of the main elements of a 4 hour party

- Include some food and drink - those Gertie cookies should be just handed out and give people flutes of champagne or sparkling cider as a start

- Spread theming around to more of the park - even if means doing Life Day in Galaxys Edge. A meet and Greet with Chewie in Life Day robes would help spread crowds

- More rare character M&Gs

- Ensure all theming is for the holidays - why was pianist in Brown Derby playing mostly non-Holiday music?

More for next year:
- holiday overlay on rides ... Most people attending this don't care about riding TSM for the 2,383th time ... But have a unique holiday overlay only available at the event and demand will be there

- drastically improved Tip Top Club - probably the most disappointing element as so many people looking forward to it and was just a plain bar cart and some standing tables?

Oh yes remember when Epcot did the statues for Festival of the Arts? That got cut too
Even further back, Epcot used to have Living Statues located at both Italy and France Pavilion at World Showcase. They used surprise and entertain guests before Festivals became a thing for Epcot.

They used to be spotted daily and were prominently featured in WDW Planning Videos during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

That’s ancient and has been scrubbed from the history books

The whole wristband/lanyard thing is just perplexing. It's either one or the other. Typically, in older events lanyards were issued because you had pull off tabs for allotted free drinks, etc. Since that isn't the case, ditch the lanyard. Shouldn't the wristband be enough?
Disneyland after dark has both but the lanyard is not required to wear, the wristband is the event credential

Then that's a kink that Disney needs to figure out. As @wdwmagic stated, people were denied entry to venues because they didn't have a lanyard although they clearly wore the wristband. If I was one of those people with the wristband but without the lanyard, I would have been royally ticked.

Given the consistent floppage of just about every muppet project Disney has tried, I don't think calling the franchise "dead" is too big a stretch.

Roger Rabbit, on the other hand, had a massive hit film and a few shorts, and that's it. He hasn't been overexposed and propped up like the puppets have. Plus he has a creative Disney connection - he's not just a wrong-headed acquisition. He's overdue for a comeback IMO. Plus he's an animated character with a strong connection to Old Hollywood. He's a perfect fit for Hollywood Studios. A new 3D movie starring Roger in the Grand Avenue Theater would be epic. People would love it. No doubt about that.

Besides, the puppet show is OLD and dated as hell. Time for something new.
I will give you this: they have had a lot of misses with the property. I just don’t think they “get” them. But have you tried Muppets Haunted Mansion? It really was great!

The lanyard is the gift for attending, I guess?
I meant more about how attendees were not given them when they came in. They were not allowed in to certain entertainment venues even with the wristband. There should be a CM making sure everyone gets the proper credentials when entering.
