I was transferred to a supervisor, and I pleaded my case. I didn’t mention the bad reviews and focused on something that might get an exception more easily.

I focused on the minimal information available at the time that the event was originally announced. Mainly once realizing that the event was more focused on food and beverage rather than entertainment, I felt that it was not an appropriate event for our toddler to come with us. And due to the short notice, we cannot arrange for childcare.

Beyond that, I stated that I am a loyal guest, AP for over a decade (cumulative), who spends tens of thousands annually at the parks.

I finally asked if there was any exceptions, and they agreed to make a one time exception.

I must have gotten the right CM, because they agreed to make a one time exception.

What I will add, they offered to change the tickets for Christmas party, but I mentioned we already have tickets for the Christmas party next month, and that’s when the refund was offered.
Ah I see. Will try again

I've heard of other people getting credit towards another party so not surprised they offered that to you first ... I think they are way more likely to just shift the money vs the full refund but obviously you paid out a number of specific reasons why it was appropriate here

"We wish you a jolly holiday..." instead of the iconic we wish you a Merry Christmas??!

I cannot believe Christmas got censored that badly. Awkward to watch here.
And the era of IP, they literally own the IP for Jolly Holiday

If it were centered on Christmas they would use the word ‘Christmas.’
Your argument is a bit like saying Animal Kingdom isn’t a zoo because Disney itself doesn’t call it such.

We all recognise Christmas when we see it. Moreover, the word can be encountered in the course of the event:

Merry Christmas🎄
In my British accent: “Happy Christmas!”

Is this in reference to Jollywood? Look, you can count me in on putting an end to the removal of "Christmas" craziness but it is called "Jollywood Nights" after all. "We wish you a jolly holiday" fits with this theme.

You can’t change the name of a movie without getting lots of people involved.

But if they really wanted to not reference Christmas at this event why would they pick a property to use at it that has the word Christmas in the title?

I agree changing words are a song along is a bit awkward and there are a ton of things wrong with this event, but I think this is searching for issues that aren't there

Or maybe they have no intention of getting rid of the word?

Here's Mickey singing "O Christmas Tree" in the same show from which the word was supposedly banned. He even ends his rendition by wishing Minnie a Merry Christmas:

It took me a few minutes to find this footage; I'm sure there are plenty of other examples.

People are looking to be aggrieved. Leaving aside the obvious explanation for the change (that "jolly holiday" is meant to refer to the name of the event itself), it was very easy to check the validity of the censorship theory by watching a few minutes of the rest of the show. It turns out Mickey himself utters the word multiple times.

People would save themselves a lot of needless stress if they took a few simple steps before jumping to conclusions.
