Show quality.

For examples of what went wrong, here are notes from our team who attended last night:
  • There were only two locations to check-in for the party: the entrance and at Vacation Fun.
    • The line to check in at Vacation Fun was more than 30 minutes.
    • CMs eventually started telling guests in the back of the line that it was better if they walked back to the front of the park, exited, and re-entered.
  • Rise of the Resistance's VQ slots were gone in minutes. It was down most of the night.

  • MDE sent out hundreds of texts to guests who'd asked for tables, saying they'd be ready "in 10 minutes"
    • That was a technical error - tables were not actually available. Our team waited for 59 minutes for their table after receiving the "10 minutes" text.
    • Besides that, our team notes the Brown Derby was understaffed; the food portions were small; and the quality was not in line with the price or the wait.
  • The character greeting lines were chaos because of how the characters were grouped and rotated.
    • The character pairings were: Mickey & Minnie; Donald and Daisy; and Goofy and Pluto.
    • Because the lines were so long, you could've thought you were getting in line for Mickey & Minnie, but got Goofy & Pluto because M&M needed breaks.
    • So you lined up for some undetermined amount of time, for characters you were not sure to get. Disney should know that people expect to see the characters they line up for. This isn't something new or an obscure customer service principle.
  • The Tip Top Club "was a small, boring, dark space" with only 3 drinks". It should've been a highlight.

  • There was apparently no "Plan B" for what to do if it rained.

  • Our team said "we spent an enormous amount of time in lines for food, and an entire hour trying to figure out Brown Derby, plus wasted a ton more time waiting for the wrong characters that ended up getting rained out anyway."
Well, I already have a ticket for 12/16. I hope they learn from this and make corrections.

Others have said it but they really should have just made this part of regular ops and have the park switch over to “Jollywood Nights” at 7pm or something, make the tree lighting the kick off. Is there any math people that could guesstimate a break even point of eliminating separate party ticket revenue with having daily additional food sales?

It does seem the two main shows delivered and well received but everything else a disaster and the Tip Top Club and Brown Derby experience really over promised and under delivered

So make those two shows part of daily ops but use G+ to help sales of that, have a dessert or dining package to increase return on investment, etc

Just when other parks like Sea World have a better offering that is part of thei daily ticket, it is pretty telling

MVMCP selling like hotcakes this week, no announcement of any Jollywood Night day sell out days in weeks. The crowds aren’t coming.
MVMCP is a known quantity. Jollywood is new and people are taking a wait and see attitude. So far, only the Saturday Jollywood parties are sold out -- 11/11 (over), 11/18, and 12/16.

Do yourselves a favor and go to SeaWorld. 3 holiday shows (not including regular daytime shows), fireworks, streetmosphere characters, and great decor.

Admission - $57.99 (with current Black Friday sale discount)
Food & Beverage Sampler - $60 for 10 samples (huge portions)
Total $118

Don’t forget the reserved seat package which was 20-30 last year and got you front and center seats to the Christmas shows waltzing in at the last second.

Gosh darn it. Now I kind of want to cancel our tickets and we are debating it. We are a party of 12 and will be going on the most expensive night.

That is a lot of $ to spend .... Guess it depends what you are looking to get out of it, what the rest of your trip is, and what else you would/could do with that money

It does seem like attraction lines were really low so if your main goal was using this to get on a bunch of rides then maybe still worth it, but as like a super enjoyable holiday party, seems like will be a challenge

Even the cheerleaderiest cheerleaders for Disney are negative on it. It was just a complete disaster, there’s no way to spin it.
Watched one blog where a guy was showing all the bloggers trying to get their reservation for Derby he pointed out Mr morrow. Said he knows he’ll make it in.

Sure enough Mr morrow and his crew got right it and had only glowing things to say.

So not everyone was being objective

Big Fat Panda was talking glowingly about it and said he would definitely pick Jollywood over MVMCP - so definitely a few .... But they seem the outliers (or I just don't follow many happy people 😂)

For those who didn't see this (sea this?), Sea World threw some not so subtle shade at this event...

I can tell you one thing - The number of bartenders present for that number of people should get someone fired. Not a reprimand, not a talking to, not another chance to make things right. Like, security walks into their office (or cube), lifts them up, and escorts them out of the building immediately.
