Funny you mention @TP2000 , I thought of him after viewing photos/videos of last night's party. Disney posted this as part of the party's description:

Many guests I saw were in shorts and t-shirts, which is fine, but I had the impression that Disney was going for a more sophisticated atmosphere, with guests (somewhat) dressing up a bit. Idk, maybe it's just me misunderstanding the 'vibe' for this event, lol. 🤷‍♀️

I know a lot of people that did dress up for it, but it's WDW, not everyone will and it isn't a requirement, just "encouraged"

But I think just another example of it trying to be a little.bitnof everything and winding up as a whole lot of nothing rather than going all in on one direction

So if you want it then be a fancy cocktail party vibe then go all in on that and have the price in due food and drinks and don't worry about the rides. Want it to be an after hours event with light theming? Fine but then don't push the "wear your best" abgle

Disney has heard the opening night feedback and additional photo ops are being added.

Tell me again how there are not planned rain locations for characters?! Ridiculous.
Inside of Indiana Jones? So close to the area. I can think of several locations where they could go. No contingencies? Fail!

What an embarrassment and joke!

WDW chooses to be lazy.
They’re only as loyal as their options. Why put forth effort when the crowds will come regardless

I still believe this event would be fine if they dedicated space to the Tip-Top Club and included it as regular park admission. You'll spread demand out through the entire 2 months the holiday season occurs and earn more revenue in Food and beverage.

I agree. You look at Disneyland’s events and they make WDW’s look horrific. They develop brand new characters for their parties.
Their smaller footprint allows them to work more nimbly, less chefs, rules, approvals. At WDW you end up with a tangled spaghetti bowl of an event with no particular theme and poor execution on the most basic of tasks, like GETTING PEOPLE IN THE EVENT!

woah, back up. They had a live musician at a holiday event and he wasnt playing holiday music????
The piano guy at Brown Derby was very talented but went between Disney songs, jazz standards, and Christmas music.

Personally I think he would be a welcome seasonal plussing during daily ops, but making him out to be the shining star of the entire event was not fair to him at all. People had extremely high expectations for that and the tip top club. These zones were a complete and utter failure on every level. No streetmosphere? Did Disney cast actually plan this event or did they outsource it?

No
Just watched some of the Tip Top Club performance...the musicians are talented, but they were playing along with a karaoke big band track. There were no trumpets on stage, but I could hear the trumpet section loud and clear.

Others have said it but they really should have just made this part of regular ops and have the park switch over to “Jollywood Nights” at 7pm or something, make the tree lighting the kick off. Is there any math people that could guesstimate a break even point of eliminating separate party ticket revenue with having daily additional food sales?

After reading reports, and watching a lot of footage, this seems like it was a low effort cynical cash grab.

The entertainment provided as little as possible, as the point of the party was to get the ticket holders to buy as much 'party exclusive' food and drink as they could sell.

But, they didn't even get that right as they understaffed all the F&B areas.

Dreadful.

I hope all the ticket holders from last night, and a good chunk from future nights ask for a refund.
