What's interesting and perhaps a larger societal problem is how you can claim to know that my intent is completely different than what I've explained it to be. I've explained that I am not making excuses but you insist that I am.
I never claimed to know or understand your intent. You said in a few posts that it was not your intent to make excuses. That's perfectly fine and I never disputed that and never called you a liar. What I said we should agree to disagree on is whether listing out a bunch of extenuating circumstances is making excuses. In my opinion it is. My opinion on that has nothing to do with your intent and you are free to think otherwise. It's really OK that we don't agree.
Under many other conditions that would be tantamount to calling me a liar and I can't help but wonder how that would progress if we were both standing face to face in hot crowded conditions, tired from a full day of activity and looking forward to fireworks of a different kind. Luckily, we are not and we can simply agree to disagree.
Wow, I don't know where to go with that. Is this supposed to be a threat? It's really not worth getting that upset about. It was just a discussion that I will be glad to take myself out of now.

Do not agree at all re. the commercials and ads.
We might as well say that it's misleading to advertise cars depicted travelling at high speed down empty winding mountain roads, when reality might dictate sitting in stop and go urban traffic, or obeying low speed limits.
Might as well complain that the images shown in poolside or beach shots depict beautiful people with fit bodies, when in actuality the waterside is inhabited by hippos.
Do we really think, really expect Disney should run ads showing people standing in lines with 90 minute wait times on the sign?
Or, standing room only crowds at fireworks?
The woman in question was a beast, and that's that.

I never said a word about the woman.
The ads for cars say "closed track / professional driver" when they show cars speeding down streets or tracks. Other products have similar warnings about "your results may be different". "Results not typical". So, yes, Disney could put a disclaimer about wait times and park attendance are not typical as shown.

Nope. It's not easy to understand how a person can attempt to physically harm another person over a firework show at a theme park.

It is baffling that people are trying to justify/"understand" this.

The commercial didn't make that lady choke the kid. The $11.00 hot dog didn't do it. The FastPasses didn't do it. The lady make a decision and acted on it. That's the end of it.

This is such a bizarre direction that this thread has taken.

Not directed specifically at you, but is the overwhelming desire to get talking points in so strong that it absolutely must override any sort of logic or personal responsibility?

21 pages of responses, including yours, indicates the answer is yes. Now, I'll hang up and listen.

I must have read this wrong then:

You can say that it is not your intent to make excuses but we will have to agree to disagree on that.....

My apologies if that didn't mean you thought my intent was anything other than what I said it was.

Is this supposed to be a threat?

No, not at all. I was simply drawing a loose parallel to how easily words could be exchanged and then escalated in a park. We're good.

Yes, and it's ridiculous that the car ads require disclaimers.
So Disney should add a disclaimer?
Life needs a disclaimer.

Sounds like a potential choker.

Add a drink and it's over $11.

I know we're veering off topic but add a drink and with tax you're closer to $15 or $16.

Conduct and class have nothing to do with income level.....you think I never see snobs from England here on there 14 day trip of I'm better than everyone elseness? (Ran into one at the Kennedy space center today but that's another story) point is I grew up in a ford tempo with no heat in Boston and I have plenty of manners.

People just need to be nice period.
(Granted to your point universal is much better for guest behavior IMO)
My first car was a ford Tempo, Cayman green color. Great car! Never got stuck in the snow.

Life needs a disclaimer.

Not to mention that the car shown in the commercial- with every available option added- is not the same car that the "average person" will be buying.

They show all available options. What a person chooses to buy is up to them. But of course a car commercial isn't going to make an advertisement with their base model.

I'm not going to believe one persons story over another's. A lot of people seem to just be assuming the teen is not making up a story that she told to her parents, her parents then made her file charges. I don't know how many times I have seen a teenager lie about something only to keep the lie going rather than tell the truth. The mom may have just put her hand up as the teenager came towards her teenage daughter and then exaggerated the story. Or the mom may have just plain out choked her. Who knows at this point. Both are innocent until proven guilty.

I think the conversation that Disney is over crowded is much more interesting it doesn't justify the way that people act but it sure does set the atmosphere for them. Having these fireworks shows in places that were never designed for them is proving to be a bad idea. It's beautiful to have them with the castle in the forefront but maybe more thought needs to go into it. I just see it getting more and more dangerous. They should go ahead and start selling alcohol at carts so we can really see it come to a head.

Them- Let's put 50,000 people in a place designed to hold 10,000 (the hub) and sell them alcohol. Sounds like money. Let's start selling alcohol!!! Me- Hey kids like go someplace else for vacation.

We're saving that for the hottest part of the day, maybe after riding the mine train while the dwarfs serenade us with rap.
Off topic, and mildly creepy- I love every post that I've seen from you so far, in this thread, and a couple of others.
