I'm over 3 and I know there will be waiting. Most people over 3 understand that expectations are projected by the provider. Therefore, what your COMMERCIALS project are what your GUESTS expect. If you're going to keep arguing just for the sake of arguing, let me know so I can send you into Jimmy Thick Land.
agree with you...99.9% of your vacation is what YOU make of it...for WDW, planning is ESSENTIAL...when we went on our honeymoon in '93, a travel agent set it up...no ADR's, no fastpasses, we were "freestyling"...back then, it could be done, but I think it's next to impossible to fly by the seat of your pants these days (unless you visit MANY times per year) Everyone just has to RELAX and enjoy...with all the planning my wife does, NONE of our trips were PERFECT...you do plan as much as possible, but sometimes you just have to go with the flow...people are just too self centered, feel that they are entitled and expect PERFECTION...guess what? There's no such thing

Obviously you missed my point, but thanks to @GoofGoof for getting it!

On to your points. Do you have any kids? Do you actually remember what it's like to be 2-4 years old, over stimulated by the non-stop excitement, in the heat of Florida, tired, and only wanting to nap? Safe to say none of us do. In fact, most kids that age don't meltdown at home or in familiar areas as it is far less stressful, or at least not very noticeable. Change the environment radically and guess what? It's simply too much for even the best behaved child. Children at that age are very reactionary on fundamentals. Why do you think that shortly after lunch time, especially in the Magic Kingdom, you see so many kids of the same age meltdown, then fall sound asleep in their strollers for a good hour, if not 2?!?

My son was very well behaved at that age and remains that way. When at WDW, we could see the signs as to when he was getting hot, tired, etc. and did our best effort to get him cooled off, out of the heat, hydrated, somewhere quite so he could crash, etc. But facts remain, it's not always possible in that environment to address the child's needs as soon as their switch starts to flip. Best efforts aside, he too had a few minor meltdowns until he fell asleep. He typically only did this at WDW and grew out of it by the age of 4.

Are there spoiled kids there? Sure. But I did not place restrictions on my meltdown reference as there are too many variables in that environment and personal issues with people in general. You're generalized response is ignorant in that you are grouping all children into a "spoiled category" when the vast majority of children the group I was intending are simply too tired to function rationally. You obviously lack the maturity and experience to be able to identify one situation verse another. If you could, you would realize the consistence and predictability of such happenings based solely on the environment.
Sorry but meltdown is the biggest load of crap ever. You did not hear of meltdowns when I was a kid, if you were tired and cranky and decided you were going to embarrass your parents in public your butt was dragged to the nearest restroom and you never even considered that bratty behavior again, and mw personally if I even started to think a bout having a fit in public my mother gave me the look, and I don't know what would have happened because I never ignored the look but I'm sure I did not want to find out. My daughter has been coming to Disney since she was 2 and with only me to make her mind as her dad passed away when she was 2, she gets tired and cranky but she just knew better than throw a fit about it, I just don't understand parents who say a meltdown or lets call it what it really is a temper tantrum, is a valid excuse for letting your child disturb others. And no I am not immature ,there is no excuse for a temper tantrum because you are tired. That is just parents who don't believe in making kids mind and thinking being tired means you can't behave.

Well you know when parent's were not afraid to actually spank their kids we had a lot better behaved kids than we have with the time out crowd., and my daughter is just like me I would have much rather got a spanking than a lecture, so you know what happened to both of us marathon lecture.

You're right.. Meltdowns and Temper Tantrums are the same thing.. just different words.
Kids still had "temper tantrums" when I was a child. Probably myself included.lol. But that's why you didn't hear of "meltdowns" back then..the only difference is the terminology.

I saw parents in my day that took control and removed the child when it started, not like now when they just let the whole world be blessed with their tantrum.

I know what you're getting at, and it's a bunch of crap. My kids were perfectly well behaved growing up and I never had to raise my hand. You get much better results from respect than you ever will through fear. I do agree that lectures are a waste of time.

A lot of parents still do remove their child..minus the spanking.
Unfortunately, a lot do not remove their child.
The one's who don't remove them seem like the majority only because they're so annoying.lol

I don't think it has anything to do with spanking or not spanking though.

Does Carnival show the embarkation lines?
I haven't seen a Holiday Inn Express commercial so can't comment there.
You have the exact same experience in Vegas as seen in commercials?only beautiful women around? Do the commercials ever show people losing money at a casino?lol

Point being, if you watch again, they are all a little exaggerated. None are going to show any negatives in an advertisement.

To be fair, i have sailed on carnival many times and boarding and deboarding has been excellent.

Holiday Inn Express is exactly how they show the commercials which is soft bed and free breakfast.

Do you remember the dominos commercials back some years ago? They pointed out every negative lol

ABSOLUTELY!!! If I EVER behaved like most of these entitled brats...Let's just say at 52, I'd still be pulling the shoelaces of my father's size 12s out of my posterior...

The idea that hitting someone - adult or child - actually solves the problem at hand seems to just go back to the original accusation made against the woman in this thread.

Sorry, but no, hitting someone (or choking) - no matter the age - doesn't solve anything. Taking control of a situation as a parent doesn't require hitting a child. I will wholeheartedly agree that there are too many who don't take control in tantrum situations, but hitting is still not the answer.

I can't understand why every time I shop at Victoria's Secret, I don't walk out looking like Gisele.

What was that cheesy commercial for men's body spray? Axe? When they would spray it and then be surrounded by women.
I wonder if a portion of men demanded their money back when that didn't happen in real life.lol
Worked fine for me
