Ok all - would you buy any of these, and if so, how much? I'm considering listing them on Etsy. Before I do so, I will attach a jump ring and black cord.

I just found this thread, I would love some of those Crocheted Mickeys for my scrapbook pages and some of the things above this thread. VERY COOL STUFF!

I've done lots of Disney-themed crafting over the years but my biggest undertaking by far has been the wardrobe for one of my soft-sculpture Cabbage Patch dolls (I've collected over 30 of these types of dolls over the past 10 years) that I took with me for our last WDW adventure (see the trip report in my signature).

Here's me & my little Ellie Boo with Daisy at Donald's Safari Breakfast with my favoritest Disney character of the moment:

I made her 3 pairs of boutique overalls by altering Build-a-Bear overalls. Before any decoration could be added each pair had to have the straps completely removed and reattached so they were functioning (velcro is never an option for soft-sculpture dolls because it can snag their skin) and the tail openings in back had to be stitched shut. All decorations were hand-sewn because the parts are just too tiny to try to force under the foot of the sewing machine. Each pair took about 10 hours or so start to finish:

I also made her 2 simple pillowcase style dresses that I put long sleeve onesie underneath (because when you can see the seams where the doll arms are attached to the body it just looks bad IMO).

We just booked our next trip so I guess I better get kicking on a few new ensembles for Ellie. Well, if I have time after I finish my Disney rag-quilt that I'm making for myself.

Love to see Disney crafting!!!

Very cool! Those are very popular at Craft Shows around here - $8 seems like a fair price. 2 questions though - where did you get that ribbon, and whats the 2 skinny blue things on the top?

Go to eBay and search for "mickey ribbon" or other combos of keywords. There's tons of themed/designed Disney grosgrain ribbon. I have amassed quite an assortment. LOL!

The blue things are a reflection of something in the room. I bought the ribbon online. I searched for Mickey grosgrain ribbon.

Has anyone come up with crafts that use the plastic bags you get when you buy merchandise at the parks? I have a bunch of bags and would like to recycle them somehow.

Can you crochet?
"Plarn" (a new word - a combo of 'plastic' and 'yarn') can be made from cut up plastic bags and crocheted into new things. I began a "plarn" bag made from recycled Disney bags, but it's not done yet.

Here's a website to get you started:

If you can't crochet, how about iron fusing different parts of the bags together to make a new, sturdier, bag?
Here's a tutorial on plastic bag fusing:

And on a different note: I saw these on Craftster this morning. Not my work, but some of you might be interested:

I just bought my first house, and am working on fixing it up. Part of that is refinishing furniture that I get for free from others.
Heres an Ethan Allan hutch I got from my grandmother (ignore the makeshift table in front of it)

Why am I posting it here, you ask? Because I got to use my Mickey knobs that I've had forever! It will soon be filled with Disney stuff too!

First off I have to say, this is my favorite thread on this forum! Everyone on here has some done some amazing stuff and I want to thank you guys for giving me some inspiration.

I love arts and crafts. Plus I like to bead and make jewelry. So far I have only made a mickey head necklace that is pictured below. I am hoping to get better at sewing so I can make some disney theme costumes. Specially a Alice one (ive seen its so popular on here).

Well now that I came to the end of this thread i have seen that no one has said anything since 07. well hopefully this will come back. I would love to talk to more people about Disney craft ideas!

We've been posting on this thread in 2010--the last 20 or so posts are from this year!

And I'm about to add another----one of my proudest creations to date!
A Mickey Pumpkin Centerpiece!!

Wow, that looks spectacular. :sohappy: What is it made from?
(it looks like fondant, but since centerpieces aren't generally edible, I doubt that's what it is)
