Wow, that looks spectacular. :sohappy: What is it made from?
(it looks like fondant, but since centerpieces aren't generally edible, I doubt that's what it is)
The pumpkins are made of polymer clay (Sculpey) formed over foil balls (to save clay and baking time), placed on a wood base, covered with moss and flowers with a pre-purchased fence in the background.
Its just a centerpiece for my kitchen table---everyone keeps thinking wedding centerpiece when I show it to them! (Which could work.....hmmmm....)

Sewing Disney

I have a pretty good collection of Disney fabrics going. Some of y'all have seen my other dolly clothes I've made. And then there was my quilt. I'm always busy making stuff...

Most recently I've been working on little teddy bear clothes for my friend who is an artist and makes amazing little hand-made heirloom quality teddy bears. She's amazing! She asked me to try my hand at making clothes and dust bags for them. I've not used any Disney fabrics but now that I'm working with bears I have acquired a few so I'm sure Disney clothes are in the future. Another of my friends recently asked me to whip something Disney up for her to have for her adventure Kid (like my Ellie Boo...see January 2010 report in my signature). Here'a a quicky pic of what I did Wednesday night:

overalls.jpg

I still need to re-read the directions for my sewing machine to do the button holes and sew on some buttons. And I'm thinking I'll shorten the legs a little and add a ruffle in the aqua dot fabric. These were made from an old pattern that's to make clothes for 15" soft sculpture Muppet Babies plushies from the '80s. I need to find a pattern to make the Muppet Babies themselves. Very cool stuff.

Also, if/when I get a Duffy bear you'll have plenty to look forward to from me!

Wow, that is gorgeous!! I used to sew (clothes for myself) but haven't done so in years. I can imagine what kind of work goes into something so tiny!

I loved all the outfits you made for EB.

Very cool stuff. My wife and I sell on etsy too as well as do some craft shows. We did one yesterday and my sunburn is killing me (being October I did not think to use sunblock and now look like a lobster)... :o

Anyway, we have done several Disney inspired pieces and will try to take some pics of what we have right now and post tomorrow. I love Disney crafts... :)

I think sunburns and craft shows go hand in hand---I ALWAYS get sunburned at craft shows! (Maybe I should stop doing outdoor craft shows....)

Yep I always get a little burned as I am very fair skinned (never have tanned in my life) but I always wear sunblock, especially on my head as I use clippers and cut my hair right to the scalp. Paying for it badly now for forgetting sunblock this weekend, oh well.

Anyway, here are some pics of one our recent Disney related projects. I used an old Mickey Mouse comic book and modge podge. It is coated with outdoor grade polyurethane so can go out in the yard. I am going to give to my daughter as it did not sell at our craft show this weekend and she had been eyeballing it since I made it so there you go... :)

The pics are not great, my camera takes nice outdoor shots but indoor not so hot, sorry.

BEAUTIFUL!!! Love it! Do you have others like it? I'd love to see more! I wouldn't be able to cut up an old Mickey Comic to do this, but if someone else did it, then I suppose it would be ok...lol.

Thanks! I have a bunch more but none of the others have Disney comics on them, they are all done with various other papers.

I am going to do more though and will take some pics when I do.

As for the comics, they are from the late 1980s and early 1990s and are reissues of some very early Mickey comics. The value of them is pretty low, so I am ok with it. :) We have used them also for making jewelry and pinback buttons. I have a hundred or so of them and purchased the lot for about $50.00 so they definitely pay for themselves...

Ok--a few more Halloween things from me! Sorry if I'm boring you!

First---I saw this shirt in Disney last Halloween, but they were out of my size, so I took a picture of it and created my own:

And a small felt banner I made for my entryway in my house. It's all hand sewn with various embroidery stitches.

Ooohh---but of course!
I'd like to make one of those felt banners for Christmas too, plus I have my Mickey wreaths (I think there somewhere on this thread), and my Mickey Ornament shirt (again-I think it's on this thread), and who knows what else I'll come up with! Any ideas?

I really want an advent calendar. Oh! And this year I think I'll actually do the new Disney-fied stockings I've been telling myself I wanted to make forever. Maybe a matching tree skirt.... hhmmmm....... Oh! I could do rag quilt versions!

I bought a Disney advent calendar last year from WDW---it has a calendar at the bottom with pockets for the 24 days, and a felt Mickey wreath at the top. Each pocket has a little velcro ornament that you can take out and put on the wreath at the top as the month goes on---its adorable!
A rag quilt tree skirt would be adorable---funny you mention that because I just got my order from fabric.com today of 7 different Christmas flannels to make a Christmas rag quilt. They're not Disney though---they're these retro Christmas prints from Moda and Michael Miller. Can't wait to get started on it!

Well I really liked the WDW Survival Kits posted here so took a crack at some for our daughters to give them for our upcoming trip in November. This will be how they find out they are going. :)

I still need to fill them out. Thus far for our older daughter we got her the Hidden Mickey Field Guide and for the younger one we got her some crayons and I am going to make a Disney notepad to go in to color in. We also are getting them each autograph books from somebody on Etsy that are made from recycle Disney Little Golden Books as well as we purchased then each 20 Disney pins on eBay for trading and I will make them each a shirt. Any other ideas?

Anyway here are the containers for the kits. I used my vinyl cutter to cut the designs to add to the cans. The pink one was a pain, the pink is much harder to work with, not sure why but it is. Very hard to weed out the excess on it.
