Amusing talk of “toxic fans” if you don’t like one movie that some… I leave it at that.

I like TFA and RoS to varying degrees out of the sequels, but man… dare to speak ill of the sacred cow of TLJ?

The toxic fans are those who harass us that do like The Last Jedi. Anyone who says anything remotely positive about the movie is swarmed with hate online.

I’m sure the vehement defenders of the film are completely innocent and never hurl around “toxic fandom” and the like or never blame the fans for “not getting it” oh wait, what happened up thread.

For my own part I did not use such a word(s) and even said “like what you want.”

Is there anything else?

Exactly. The completely over-the-top hyperbole in this thread is an example of why it does no good to discuss TLJ. Some fans love it, some loathe it, and a SUBSET (NOT all) of that group are truly toxic about it. No one’s going to change their opinion so PLEASE let’s drop it. There are more then enough places online to scream at people about TLJ.

You are the reason I reacted that way… granted I know very little of you…all I know is the little bit you post here… which I have not seen much… but your response came across as the toxic people online I am use to… all Last Jedi fans always behave this way or that way… mention how one poster must be a Last Jedi Fan… it seems like a lot of generalizations… all I gave was a simple opinion on the ST and Pt

I have no interest in the Fast and Furious movies.. but if someone else does great… and I would not assume all F&F fans are all the same

The fact that it was included is what caused the discourse. They cared more about including that than creating a good movie. They made up their minds that it needed to be included.
Do explain how animating a kiss between gay minimalist lines representing two females is more time consuming or difficult for the artist than animating a kiss between straight minimalist lines.

Do explain how that somehow taxes the rest of the film. Explain how creativity is a finite resource, and once they’ve spent 90% of it on that first few seconds, there’s none left to go around for the rest of the film.

Is your perception that they took months and months to discuss and employ that kiss, and then had to just throw the rest of the movie together in 2 weeks?

How is this assertion of yours and others logical?

Is Disney really down to 3 movies in all of 2024?

Deadpool 3, Inside Out 2, and Mufasa?

On the plus side they should be profitable next year with that lineup.

That's a good point. But they also moved the indie film The Bikeriders from Searchlight into 2024, so it's 4 movies in '24.

Apparently Snow White finished filming and production this past summer, and was ready for a March, 2024 debut. But now it's been moved to March, 2025 for some unknown reason that has nothing to do with the Seven Magical Hipsters being turned into Seven CGI Dwarves.

Having only four movies in 2024 and still keeping Snow White as a '25 release seems to prove that Snow White was sent back for massive rewrites and a full rethink after the Rachel Zegler and Magical Hipsters viral mess this past summer.

Box Office data is out for Friday. The Marvels actually dropped to 4th place, and Next Goal Wins from Disney's Searchlight opened in a distant 5th place. 🫤

After this weekend, the 10 day comparisons for this absolute disaster compared to the inflation adjusted history of Marvel films is going to be astonishing.

Truly historic bomb.

Maybe they could send Iman Vellani onto The Tonight Show real fast? That would drum up some business, wouldn't it?
