Did you see the fight? :(

Yeah it was aug 13th i think at Magic Kingdom about 5 mins before the parade at 3 started.

One was English and the other American, both women.

I was right behind it and was terrified myself let alone the little children.

Basically what happened was:
-The British Women (lets call her.......Brenda) had a child (we'll call him.....Tom) and she let Tom go in front of her so he had front row standing for the parade.
-Brenda then gets pushed out the way (as do my family and myself) by the American women (we'll call her.....i dunno.......Sally:shrug: )
-Sally then walks up to Tom and asks him to move so she can stand at the front after pushing all of us around her back. Tom says basically 'no sorry'. Then Sally says something along the lines off 'i'm gonna get you put into care, and when your there i'm gonna get your (but said in a rude way) and shove it in my hole'. Then raises a hand to hit him.
-Brenda jumps in and has a go at her defending her son.
-Sally hits Brenda and the fight kicks off.

-The disney people around the barriers, did (pardon my french) all, and basically stood and watched as they ripped each other apart, Tom was screaming his head off, I managed to grab some of the kids as they got upset and told them to stand with me untill the police came, while their parents had to break up the fight as the Disney people didn't bother.
-Sally is then allowed to walk off (i dont think you have citizens arrest in America) and none of the disney people tried to stop her, to calm her down or keep her there untill the police arrived.
-A photo pass photographer turns up and tries to calm Brenda while calling the Police.
-Policeman shows up, and doesn't believe Brenda even though we all heard it. Then Brenda gets historical 'Why don't you go find her? Thats sick, she's mental, who does that to a child?' Then starts screaming 'If i was back home in England, she would have been stopped and she'd be questioned before me, and you've had sorted everything out'
-Then we walked off.

So as you can see it wasn't nice and i am dissapointed that the disney people didn't do anything and just watched. Because it did ruin the day for me and terrified many of us.

If either of those women are on here, please don't be mad i posted about this, but it did scare a lot of people, and i know that ''Brenda'' apologised.

That is horrible. I've seen and heard some pretty rude and trashy things from people at WDW (especially involving line cutting and stealing parade spots) but never in my life have I heard of someone saying something like that to a child!!! That is so sad. She should have been thrown out of the park. Someone like that should not be allowed around children.

That is absolutely insane. But I think if I had been there I would have started screaming at the women too. What king of crazy person says something like that to a child. I feel sorry for that child and all the other children that had to witness that. Disney is suppose to be a happy place. I have never pushed my way to the front when watching a parade. That is just totally rude. Some people wait hours to have a good spot. The Disney people should have done more but I can also see why they didnt. If a CM had jumped in injured either party while trying to seperate the two then they would have a lawsuit on there hands. So basically Disney is damned if they do and damned if they dont.

There is no excuse for what that woman did! That's really no excuse to say that to anyone, let alone a kid and if she wanted a spot on the front for parade then she should've got there early....But like many people they wait till 2:59 to get a spot and they think that the people who have waited for an hour should move.

I can't believe something like that happened in Disney. Like I always say, sadly this is the one thing that will always stand out in a lot of people's memories of their trip to Disney. Especially "Brenda". I'm sure she won't return to the Magic Kingdom anytime soon.

I agree, Disney is caught between a rock and a hard place. My question is where the heck was the security? Why wasn't a security guard there in a matter of seconds? Does this show the lack of training on the security? I mean, with the world we live in I would expect that Disney would have top notch to protect their "investments". And I hate to throw this in, but with the money people pay to get in now, you expect to have fun and be pretty safe!

On a side note, great retelling of what happened by Jellyfish. What a storyteller!:sohappy:

I work in emergency services in Orange County, FL, and people truly amaze me. I hear/see this kind of thing all the time. It happens too rarely that people respond to help someone else. They're either in shock that this is happening, afraid they'll get hurt, afraid they'll get sued, or just plain lazy.

For those of you who have stopped and help for something as small as a stubbed toe, all the way up to something out of a movie,

THANK YOU!!!

This is terrible. I don't understand people like that at all. Things like that should not be said to anyone, but especially to a child. I would have been irate if someone had talked to my child that way.
She should have been thrown out!

Wow, that's insane. There's not much else I can say to that.

I should have gone to MK my 1st day of vacation instead of MGM. I always miss out on the action. :hammer:

I actually almost got in a fight at BTMRR on August 14th. A guy, his wife, and his child cut in line, because Frontierland just opened and their was a line outside the queue. So I said to him, "Hey, the line is back there." He didn't even acknowledge me. So I indirectly said things about cutting in line, thinking maybe he would hear them, he did. Then, what really set him off was when my mom called me to tell me I got an important letter in the mail from college, I said to her, "Hey mom, guess what just happened. A guy and his family cut in front of us in line and didn't even say he was sorry, pretty nice huh?" The guy (who was Australian, ethnicity has nothing to do with the story, but I just wanted to state it) then turns around and starts mumbling things to me while I'm on the phone, so I just smiled and it made him more mad. I got off the phone and by that time we were in the queue where the line goes up and down, and he starts throwing dirty looks our way. So I said to him, "I'm not the one who cut in line, so don't give me dirty looks!" Then I complimented his woman capri style pants that he was wearing and told him that "They are very cute" and then I chuckled. Listen, I don't look for fights, I just believe in proper park etiquette. Now if he said he was sorry for cutting in line in the very beginning, I would have accepted his apology, but he didn't.

Well here's my 2 cents to add in.

We were at Epcot near the China area in the World Showcase. My sisters wanted one of those walking puppet things from a stand. So my mom took them over to the stand and let them choose which one they wanted. Although, beforehand, it had rained pretty hard, so the puppets were all soaked and nasty. So my mom went and asked the lady that ran the kiosk if she had any in packaging that were dry and the lady said "No.". So this other lady comes barging over and pretty much yells at the lady asking for a dry one. So my mom, trying to help, told this raging woman that Ms. China Kiosk Lady already said that she didn't have any dry ones. In reply, the raging lady called my mom a redneck. Next thing you know, the china lady pulls out dry ones. So we got dry puppet things and that lady was the moodiest person in Epcot :\.

It's sad to see that they allow such moody people into Disney World :(.

To stay on topic, this is disguisting. If that was my kid, that woman wouldn't be walking right now.

Sad to hear that the CM's didn't do anything...

I think most people know right from wrong and you don't need to be paid do the right thing. That being said, I'm sure glad somebody had the bravery and smarts to step in and do the right thing.

I really wish that the WDW staff/cast members had more ability to remove troubled people from the park. Not just for the people who have been victimized but for their children (if applicable) and the people who could be victimized.

As an example: I once witnessed a Man, open palm slap his wife in front of their 4 children on the PotC, I pointed the man out and asked him to stay with the CM but the CM said they couldn't help me.... I don't want help for me, I want it for the poor woman and their children. They are the ones that need help...

I guess common sense isn't so common anymore...

Gee whiz, I'm sorry your family had this experience. How sad for all the children.

It's sad that the Disney CM's don't have a way of handling this sort of situation. It's nothing short of tragic that the situation even exists and I know the poor CM's aren't compensated enough as it is without them having to learn to diffuse arguements or fights. As CM's, like it or not, they are viewed by guests as voices of authority. When something out of the ordinary comes up, guests look to them for guidance or answers. At the very least, they should have a procedure to follow for this type of situation. 1. Call for security. 2. Have the next nearest CM come over so that they are not alone. 3. Talk to the guests, try to separate them until security arrives. (((This at much at least shows an effort to do something rather than just stand there watching.))) Furthermore: 4. Remove involved parties/witnesses from the public area to question them and find out what has happened. 5. Contact proper law enforcement if needed. 6. Gather statements if needed. 8. Eject trouble-makers! In this day and age (post 9/11) with the increased presence of security I'm really surprised there isn't more show of intolerence for such behavior.

This said, I can honestly say that when we go to WDW if someone speaks to one of my children like that the perpetrator won't be hard to find. That would be the person walking around missing their teeth or with the broken nose. LOL! I know I ain't the only momma who thinks that way, too. :)

Where was the tazer they used on the kids from NJ? She sounds like a prime candidate for a good zap. I always feel sorry for the kids of people like that. You know they don't stand a chance in life. They will end up being trashy rednecks just like their parents.
