Terrible...I can't belive that even in Disney people can be upset.:(

That was what I was thinking!!! I have never had anything like that or remotely close to people fight around me while at Disney. I have had gross people fart around me though. I dont know which is worse. Killing the ozone or mom's fighting:ROFLOL:

That is so sad. I wonder how a person like that even comes up with the idea to go to WDW? She just does not seem normal so it is hard to picture her with her family planning a nice trip to WDW. Acting like that is so very bad, especially in front of all those children enjoying their trip which they have probably looked forward to for months. Kind of reminds me of a group of adults walking thru Adventureland smoking a joint. My husband told them to get rid of it and they acted like we were a trespasser on their property so how dare we even suggest it. Sad, sad, people out there.

I just had a funny thought.

When I was a kid and our outside cats would get into fights we wouldn't try to break them up ((I mean..heellloooo..they have claws..ouch)) so we would either hose 'em down with the garden hose or throw a pitcher or glass of water from inside. CM's could just walk around with water guns on hip holsters like cowboys. LOL! When an argument or fight starts they can call for security and start squirting like mad!!! It would be a diversion, huh???? Plus, it'd be real entertainment for the bystanders!!!

:ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL: :ROFLOL:

((((just kiddin, folks))))

Actually, if you think about it, this is a good and funny way to break up a fight. And, it would be good entertainment. No one would get hurt, and it might actually help with the meanness.

Then Sally says something along the lines off 'i'm gonna get you put into care, and when your there i'm gonna get your (but said in a rude way) and shove it in my hole'. Then raises a hand to hit him.

I find it a disgrace that security was not involved in this. It is one thing for people to get angry and cuss or whatever....but an adult making a sexual threat to a child and getting away with it? That is insane. I wonder if it would have been handled differently if the adult who made the threat would have been a male instead of a female....

Are you familiar with the term 'trailer trash' in the UK?
Sounds like you found the definition for it.

Sorry this happened.
you beat me too that punch line.

ahhh, what a mess. hey, i dont blame the Disney Photgraphers for not jumping in, sometimes its best to just let them duke it out. :D they get tired and they are easier to calm down.

I'm sorry to be the lone voice of disagreement, but I'm having a hard time believing that there wasn't any security around, especially during a parade when I have seen at least 10-15 uniformed guards ... and, coming just after the tea party ride incidnet, I would think that there would be some kind of response ... it is true that CM's are not allowed to get involved with guests who become violent, but are required to call security immediately ... even if they had no means of communication on themselves, they could just go into one of the shops and have them call ...

Who would say such a thing to a child?!

Unfortunately, rule number one when a fight breaks out is for the CM to not intervene. They become witnesses, taking in as much as they can and calling for a manager and security. Security then calls Orange County. Technically, not even Security can do much of anything except act as witnesses to the incident. Its tough to have your hands so tied down, but there is a huge liability issue at stake if a CM were to become involved.

From a personal standpoint...catfights are the meanest of all fights. Its all over with them...none of the I punch you you punch me routine. Anything thats attached they reach for and pull. You couldn't pay me to break one up. Quite frankly I'd like to have children at some point.

Im curious as to why Security would not be able to break it up? I would of thought they would have the authority to intervene? I understand that OCSD would be the ones to arrest but Disney Security cant break up and detain?

Wow, that's insane. There's not much else I can say to that.

I should have gone to MK my 1st day of vacation instead of MGM. I always miss out on the action. :hammer:

I actually almost got in a fight at BTMRR on August 14th. A guy, his wife, and his child cut in line, because Frontierland just opened and their was a line outside the queue. So I said to him, "Hey, the line is back there." He didn't even acknowledge me. So I indirectly said things about cutting in line, thinking maybe he would hear them, he did. Then, what really set him off was when my mom called me to tell me I got an important letter in the mail from college, I said to her, "Hey mom, guess what just happened. A guy and his family cut in front of us in line and didn't even say he was sorry, pretty nice huh?" The guy (who was Australian, ethnicity has nothing to do with the story, but I just wanted to state it) then turns around and starts mumbling things to me while I'm on the phone, so I just smiled and it made him more mad. I got off the phone and by that time we were in the queue where the line goes up and down, and he starts throwing dirty looks our way. So I said to him, "I'm not the one who cut in line, so don't give me dirty looks!" Then I complimented his woman capri style pants that he was wearing and told him that "They are very cute" and then I chuckled. Listen, I don't look for fights, I just believe in proper park etiquette. Now if he said he was sorry for cutting in line in the very beginning, I would have accepted his apology, but he didn't.
I had a similar story on the 20th, It was during Extra Magic Hours at AK and I was alone as the rest of my family was too tired and went back to the hotel. Surprisingly the line for Everest was only about 10-15 minutes. EMH was almost over (8:30ish) and I was entering the museum building part of the queue for Everest. While waiting in a standstill, a young couple (mid twenties) was cutting everybody in the line claiming that they were meeting up with the rest of their group. Now whether they were actually meeting people and the others had already made it on, or if they were just plane cutting, they stopped cutting people immediatly after they cut me, I started talking to people behind me about it(kind of what you were doing with your mother over the phone). We reached the front of the line when everybody in line started to make a large deal about it, and on top of the cutting in line they didn't have EMH wristbands (how they got beyond the CM at the head of the line I don't know). The CM that sorts you into the rows noticed the lack of a wristband and heard everybody in line talkning about the cutting that these people did and he called security and had them escorted from the park. I just can't stand when people cut you claiming that they are meeting people ahead of you:brick: , if you are meeting people, then do so before you get in line.

Remindes me of an adult man who tried to start a fight with me at Epcot when I was 13 years old, back in 1989!

We were getting ready to watch the evening laser/fireworks show and (being a normal 13 year old) was kinda fooling around with a buddy and bumped into the back of this 40ish man. He was apparently drunk and turned around, yelled at me, and grabbed both hands around my throat, choking me!!

Here's the funny part...

At the time, I was a 6'2" 180-pound 2nd degree black belt (yes, at 13 years old) in Taekwondo in town for the National Taekwondo Championship tournament (which I won 1st place for my division). So... I used my self-defense knowledge to hit his arms off of me, but I didn't take it any further. Right away, a couple of the other adults in my group (who happened to be 5th and 6th degree Taekwondo instructors) got in the man's face and verbally coaxed him to back off...

Thankfully, nothing physical happened other than that man grabbing me and me hitting his arms away, but it could have gotten really bad for HIM!!!!!

That's really funny.
I am a Boy Scout leader and I use that same tactic for getting scouts out of bed in the morning at summer camp. You would be surprised how fast those boys will get out of their beds with a super soaker full of ice water......

I think using that same tactic for crowd control would work, but could case a backfire. If it's 90+ degrees out, you may get swamped with kids and adults wanting to be cooled off....

I still think it's funny........and should be used.....

First what idiot would pick a fight with an underage person (oh, you did say he was drunk....never mind).
As a fellow martial artist, I have to say that you did the right thing....although a slight butt whopin' would have been fun to watch.......

My instructor said it best. "At a high level of training, you can defend yourself completely, and never leave a mark on the other person."

People have no idea what they 'Might" be getting into.......

Where was the tazer they used on the kids from NJ? She sounds like a prime candidate for a good zap. I always feel sorry for the kids of people like that. You know they don't stand a chance in life. They will end up being trashy rednecks just like their parents.

Yes I have posted before that tazers would be wonderful addition to the CMs uniform. Albeit that was in a Brazilian Tour Group thread.

Being the redneck that I am, I sure hate it when people bash us. :(
Unless you are referring to the regular rednecks being a cut above the trashy rednecks.

Either way, cattle prods work better on rednecks, FYI. :lookaroun

I mean I just can't even believe that someone would say something like that to a child!!! Secondly, I wonder why the photo pass guy isn't standing there taking pictures of the whole incident so security could find said woman....I mean I cannot believe that the security wouldn't go after the woman I'm just shocked by the whole thing...
I mean when we went in July we got our fastpasses for Splash Mountain went and rode a few rides and went back we had like 2 min according to the disney clock but it was 10 min after our set time accoring to our watches; neways we hand the guy our passes and just as he reads them a little red-haired guy walks up and shoves his switch pass in the CMs face Im like sir give the guy just a sec and we'll all be able to go. He was like but I have a switch pass I need to go my wife wants her turn too! I was like look Dude if one position will make that big of a difference to your wife then go right on ahead of us he was like "God, finally you understand!"

Neways....
