DHS to Get the DCA Treatment?

Guys, I know some of you would love for Cars Land to come to Florida but I hope it stays exclusive to California.

I agree. When Disney comes up with a new idea for one of their resorts, the first things that comes to people's minds is "let's duplicate it in other disney parks" I'm not sure that will work as well with Carsland. It's one thing to take Tower of Terror, or other singular rides and duplicate them in other disney resorts, but it's a whole other thing to take an entire newly created "land" and just plop it right down in other parks. And if it is cloned for DHS, I doubt it will be as good or expansive as the one in DCA, so why not just avoid all those comparisons and start something new!

There are plenty of Pixar films that can be utlized, and haven't been yet in Disney World. Wall-E, The Incredibles, Brave just off the top of my head, and I'm sure there are going to be more Pixar movies in the next decade. Those offer a great starting point for imagination. Carsland was great partly because it was a brand new concept people had never seen before. It's also why Epcot is great. So duplicating that new concept, doesn't make it all that "new" the second time around, and I believe it wouldn't be as good a fit in DHS.

Yes, I'd love to see a fresh, new concept for DHS, something original. If it's Pixar, the Incredibles would be amazing, or anything else for that matter.

Oh, I completely agree. I would rather they keep Cars Land exclusive to Disney California Adventure as well, and would much rather have either new attractions or copies of the lesser known attractions from other parks (hence my suggestions in my previous post). All I meant was that if Disney did decide to go the... I don't want to say uncreative, but most "obvious" route by building a second Cars Land in Disney Hollywood Studios, it would still be better than The Studio Backlot Tour, in my opinion. :)

Cars Land probably would be better than the "Backlot" Tour. I was looking at a youtube video of the tour (I know, I know) and I had to turn it off. It was hard to watch.

There could be many possibilities for new lands like a Wall-E (like how spacemt254) themed land or another good Pixar film can be turned into a themed land. Plus, there's also the new AoA resort.

UP too! ellie-badge's username and avatar made me remember haha! That is another great Pixar film that has yet to be in the parks. I bet an Up ride would be pretty cool in DHS :)

DHS badly needs a DCA style renovation. It's a park that has lost it's identity and needs to have it restored.

I'd say start with the removal of the Hat and a major refurbishment of The Great Movie Ride and go from there...

17 or so attractions (only 6 "rides" technically TGMR, ToT, RnRC, TSMM, Star Tours, Backlot) the rest are shows/walk throughs. That needs to change!

I think DHS lacks a good theme and layout (it's the only one of the parks at WDW that I don't enjoy "just walking around"; except during the Osborne Family Lights). But more than that, it just needs more attractions. The park does have good E-ticket headliners, but is in desperate need for more filler rides to handle crowds and spread people around. I certainly wouldn't complain about another E-ticket (Indiana Jones?) but let's get some rides that can be enjoyed by all ages and take pressure away from TSMM.

On the topic of Carsland, I'd be fine if they brought over Mater's Junkyard Jamboree as part of a Pixar Place expansion. They don't have to bring over RSR or copy all of Carsland to piggie-back on it's success a bit.

I say get rid of star wars weekends and build a star wars land with a star wars character meal. I agree about cars staying in DCA.

I'm not sure about a character meal, but it would be really awesome if there was an actual quick service restaurant/pub that was a replica from the one in the film... the one where that one alien band plays, Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes? (I had to look that name up, LOL.) Anyway, I could see it sort of like Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe, in that the band could be animatronic and play a few songs every now and then, but much more elaborately themed (and hopefully less annoying).

I don't believe anyone has mentioned it yet, but I liked seeing this bit in Al's article:

Al Lutz said:
Disney’s crafty social media team has worked wonders to bury the poor reviews coming in on Yelp and TripAdvisor that tell of shaky service and unpolished staff...

See...told ya they did that sort of thing...
Lee, that is exactly the sort of shenanigans that have been going on with Yelp for at least the past 5 years. There is a ton of Bolstered Stories to wade through on that site.

Guys, I know some of you would love for Cars Land to come to Florida but I hope it stays exclusive to California. DCA got off to a really, really bad start and ever since Cars Land came and pretty much saved the entire park, its become the heart and soul. Let it stay in California, please. Wouldn't you want something original anyway? That's why I'm glad Westcot was scrapped. The MK is great but I always hear fans saying Epcot is the best park on the property. I wouldn't want something of the same bloodlines in California, since it very dear to WDW fans.

I guarantee you RSR is going to get cloned, probably at DLP and one of the Asian resorts, most likely Shanghai. I remember reading that Lasseter wants it at a bunch of parks.

I wouldn't worry too much about WDW getting much of anything in the near future.

RSR, fine. I don't want that cloned either, but it's just one ride so I guess I'm cool with that. Not the entire Cars Land I hope.

My idea for updated Muppet Area:

Name: Muppet Studios
Enter the Muppet Studios and help them to prepare and film their new movie!

New Restraunt: Casting Cafeteria
This large quick service restaurant is the first step on the journey to finishing your new movie. Choose a booth inside this large cafeteria while the muppets show off their talent acts on a screen next to your table. A swedish chef AA cooks your food and performs his talents on a raised platform behind the counters. But remember, your in this movie too! Which means you have to cast also! Every 5 mins, a random table will be chosen and someone from that table will have to show off their talent! For doing this everyone on their table gets a fastpass for Muppets: Hot Set!

New Interactive Dark Ride: Muppets: Hot Set!
Now that you've been cast, it's time to film the movie! Ride through the set with Kermit (in a rotating vehicle similar to Figment ride) as Muppet AA's guide you through the different parts of filming a movie! First help scooter test different cameras (queue). Then its time for the opening number! Miss Piggy will teach you how to sing, then its time for you to look at a camera and follow the lyrics. Then the funny scene! First, fozzie will tell you some jokes and will ask you to rate them using laughter! The louder you laugh, the more chance they will be used in the movie! Fozzie then introduces you to slap stick comedy by squirting you in the face with his flower and various other gags. Now time for the big action scene! Gonzo will show you how its done, as you dodge explosions, gunshots and rubber chickens! Now the ending scene. All the muppets gather together and sing rainbow connection! At the end of the ride you are able to watch a sneak peek of the movie on one of the many computer screens near the exit!

New MuppetVision: Muppet Movie Premiere
It's time for the premiere of the new muppet movie! Walk the Red Carpet (queue) then watch the brand new updated Muppetvision movie!

Well that's my idea! If you didn't notice I like lands with stories instead of just attractions with stories :)

I think an entire area dedicated to The Muppets would be awesome! I've always loved The Muppets when I was younger and needless to say I thought their newest film was absolutely FANTASTIC! An area made to be a replica or to at least look like The Muppet Studios would be so cool, especially if it was on a Cars Land sort of scale (but that's wishful thinking on my part).

I really like all of your ideas! I think I'm one of probably many that agree Muppet Vision 3D should be re-imagined. Keep it a 3D show themed to The Muppets, but update it with something new... and adding Walter is practically a no-brainer at this point. I've grown to love him as a character, he deserves a spot in the park. :D

Well as others have said before in previous threads there really isnt a character meal thats geared towards boys and I think Star Wars would be a perfect fit! To have Darth Vader and others coming around to your table would be really cool. I know my husband would make me eat there every time! I do also like your idea of the quick service/ pub too. If they built a star wars land they could have that also. It really would be great!!
