DHS Permit

I finally got a chance to actually look at this permit in detail. If I'm seeing things correctly, this would seem to push the existing boundaries of the current park out quite a bit...? Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to indicate a major expansion as opposed to "plussing" the current areas.

The areas in yellow are currently undeveloped land which will become developed land. Most of the yellow will become parking. The permit does not tell us how much of the current parking area will become part of the park.

Right. So the green area is already developed in some fashion (park, parking, etc.) and the yellow is what needs to be developed. It doesn't speak to how the green area might be used in the future, just that it is already developed, @dizneycrazy09

Doing a calculation in my head and assuming Phase 4 DOESN'T happen (because it may not, whereas 1-3 WILL happen), I'd approximate a 50% increase in walkable space for the Theme Park.

Wow, so is that legit? If so, that is a huge increase in walkable space. I assume most of that is due to the backlot tour now being in walkable space?
Backlot Tour, use of the space behind Midway Mania, and expansion of Star Wars into the parking lot. Most of the actual parking lot portion of that last expansion will actually be a ride building, but new walking space will be added around Star Tours for shopping, dining, and the lead up to the two new rides.

A bit out numbers wise.

Remove Pixar Place and remember the bulk of SWL will be show building and backstage.
I'm sure this is covered elsewhere, but is the existing backstage such as the parking garage structure, the current costuming and surrounding backstage all staying within the studios borders or will any of that be reclaimed for on stage show?

Wait... Phase 3? I thought there's only two. The first being TSPL and the second SWL.

Phase 3 wasn't announced for a reason at D23. Disney didn't make up their mind yet in what will be in phase 3 yet. Phase 3 is something don't be shocked if it gets announced in 2017 or 2018. Right now the rumor is Phase 3 is either Monsteropolis or Incredibles.

The odds of a Phase 3 at DHS is at 100 percent though due to location in question. Phase 3 is supposed to take up where Lights, Motor, Action! and Catastrophe Canyon is.

Well, nothing is 100%, but yes. The plan is to put something back there and neither TSL nor SWL use the space.

Would a Monsters, Inc. land really take up the entire footprint of the Phase 3 plot? It seems like an enormous amount of land. Seems like they could fit at least 2 decent sized lands in.
