No.
This is just a one room thing.

Set your expectations on "low".

So, did the budget get killed or drastically reduced? Because, from reading the press, it sounded like a new interactive experience.

from the (apparently accidental) press announcement: “This is going to be an immersive experience,” Jason told us. “We’ll really delve into the story of Captain Jack Sparrow and put our Guests in the middle of it all in new and exciting ways.

a first-of-its-kind sensory experience in which Guests will have the chance to be enveloped by the world of the Pirates of the Caribbean

You guys are making it sound like another typical walk-through showing a few props from the movies.

I never viewed the hat as one of the main icons.....I always viewed the Earful Tower as the icon for Hollywood Studios.

As for this attraction, I wonder if this will be open by end of September? May be nothing special, burt at least its something new.

Based on the plans I have...
The entire building will have three "scenes": The entry vestibule, the main show room, the post-show gallery.
The main room is oddly shaped, with a mock up of part of a ship in one corner. Around the room are a couple more areas for effects to take place.

It is not that large, roughly 40' per side.

From what I have seen/know, it will be a nice little diversion. Certainly better than Narnia. But...it won't be a major attraction. I'm not trying to knock it, because it looks pretty nice. I just don't want people thinking there it's something that it isn't.

I remember when I went back in 1999 I was only maybe 6 or something but that was the icon that represented MGM to me and it will always be the icon to me, that and I still call it MGM just cause I prefer the name (less of a mouthful)

Thank you Lee. I think that sets my expectations at just the right level for me. Nice enough to take my Pirates crazy nephews to see, but nothing I need to plan my day around seeing.

Thanks Lee. Nice little diversions are okay. We'd all like a DHS expansion, but if they can at least start to fill in the empty attractions, well that's a beginning. This certainly sounds better than what's been there recently. We can probably spend a few minutes there, out of the heat.

Now, on to the ABC Sound Studio and Pixar Place. Just let us know Lee as soon as that Monsters Inc. coaster gets going. I'm sure it will open to coincide with the release of Monsters University. They still have a year. :lookaroun

Exactly--it's not groundbreaking, but it sounds pretty nice. Perfect for mid-afternoon when all of the rides have long lines.

Sounds like a good little addition. Better than nothing. Yo Ho!

I'd love a ride where you rode through in a small pirate ship with an electronic cannon. You could shoot different pirate things at different images on big video screens. It would be awesome to pass through different areas and toss coins or shoot cannon balls or swords, even a food fight busting bottles of "rum". At the end you could add up your points and see if you made "Captain"

I can see this as a very popular ride. Probably would even end up as a "must do".

I forgot to mention that it would be awesome to make it in 3D.

It's not negativity. Its just facts. It's a small walk through exhibit. I wouldn't call it an attraction. A line outside, a preshow / holding area, the main exhibit space, and an exit area. Believe me, I do wish it were more. But as is it'll take a few hundred people off the streets and offer a nice diversion for a half hour.

That have that exact attraction, in 3D too, at Disney Quest.

Small attractions are great!

Sadly, they are hardly ever build. They do cost you money, but you can't really market them as a new experience to lure guests back.

Once a park is opened, those A and B tickets just don't seem to get build anymore, they only disappear over the years. When they do get build, it is as part of a larger expasion or as a marketing tool. Which is a shame, because those small attractions add so much to the charm and diversity of the overall experience!
