Anyone insiders know if the plan to at least do a little something to echo lake and more importantly animation is that just very long term?
I'm not an insider, and I'm beating a dead horse, but I'd get rid of SW Memorabilia Bay ASAP, and either build the rumored "Life of Mickey" on that plot of land, or another E-Ticket in it's place. As a last resort, I'd even take the Animation Bldg as it previously existed over what's there now.

Being blunt, they are not getting rid of Launch Bay any time soon. They will use that space to showcase "new" Star Wars stuff over the next few years until the land is open. they want to have as strong of a SW presence in the parks as possible prior to the land being open (I mean, they are basing a major advertising campaign on it).

That said, I fully expect that Launch Bay will close once Star Wars Experience opens. I hope that they will then use that footprint effectively -- whether putting new stuff in the existing building like a return of Animation stuff or, IMHO ideally, tearing it down and creating a new land or multiple attractions with that space.

I could see some sort of classic animation revival project of Animation Courtyard for the 50th, starting once SWL opens.

I've posted the following on a couple of threads, so bear with me lol...
A lot of people have been asking about the fate of Star Tours and it's future (if any) with Star Wars Land. I personally love Star Tours, and considering it's popular, light-hearted fun aspect, I think it could fit thematically well within the new planet if Imagineering decides to keep it. However, it's current location is what plagues such discussions. So I came up with this wishful thinking design layout (attached image) for the south side of the park, that keeps Star Tours to a new location within the SWL site. In my plan, Star Tours would relocate to the former location of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, with the size of the current ride building fitting snugly there (exempting gift shop space), and still leaving more than enough room for the new attractions Disney has planned for SWL in the demo prep site. This would leave Muppets Courtyard untouched and not sticking out awkwardly between Star Tours and SWL. Toy Story Land stays the same. With Star Tours moved, this would allow the original Star Tours, Backlot Express, and Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular buildings (and maybe some backstage) to be yesteryear, allowing room for an Echo Lake expansion (or other mini-land, preferably with a new/semi-new Indiana Jones themed attraction). If I were the powers that be with no concerns in spending (ha!), this is what I would pursue for this part of the park (I have expansion ideas cooked up for the other half of the park too). Just fan-dreaming, of course. :);)
In my opinion, that would be ideal

I really think they will need another sort of "people eater" for when the crowds at Star Wars Experience become overwhelming -- which would be like every day, five minutes after the rope drops. Similar strategy to what UNI did by getting Transformers installed in the space of a year. Toy Story Land isn't going to soak up that many people...

Here's a thought- we've been focused on the rides in the land. Has there been any talk or rumor yet about what entertainment options, if any, will be available when TSL or SWL opens?

I don't disagree. I think the more logical place for such a thing would be in Echo Lake though, since I do not see them removing Launch Bay until Star Wars opens. Or perhaps they could do something around RNR/near Fairfax Fare.
