Looking at those pics I posted above, that expansion pad area is about big enough to hold an attraction the size of Star Tours
Hmmm.... That sounds oddly suspicious......... I guess it can only mean one thing.... (Cough Cough Iluminati Cough)relocation of star tours confirmed. Dun Dun Dun!

Screens are the media of today. We might as well get used to it until something new comes along. Free standing AA's may be something in the future, but, stationary storytellers have pretty much gone the way of the buggy whip.
Screens are either a medium to create an environment impossible to produce physically, or a way to cheapen the experience.

The problem is that the only way it is being looked at around here is the cheapen the experience angle. Many of the experiences we currently enjoy in all theme parks are screen based and they are good, they are entertaining and they create a world that we otherwise would not experience. Yet, (sigh) all we hear is how awful they are and how they shouldn't be and never were used by Disney "in the good old days". (As long as we made every effort we can to forget Mission to Mars, If I had wings, Star Tours, UoE, Horizons, Journey into Imagination, WoL, WoM, Timekeeper or countless others that existed years ago.) AA's are great, but, they have a limited ability to show us a whole picture, to put us in a scene with any reality without us thinking that we are a robot as well. Combined with even in small amount of AA's, screens have made some of the best Attractions in the place.

The other problem is that no one has a alternative, just a "I don't like that" attitude with no real basis of that opinion other then somebody told them that they shouldn't. Basically, and I am just as guilty of this as anyone, we just over-analyze the crap out of Theme Parks instead of just taking them at their purpose... to entertain us in a variety of ways and to have fun.

That's kind of what we do around here...
I know, and although I enjoy mixing it up over varying opinions on things having to do with Theme Parks in general and Disney in particular, I have to sadly admit that my once youthful exuberance and innocence is gone and my exposure to the seedier side about them has greatly diminished my enjoyment of the parks. I don't really care if I even go again. The shine has worn off, even though some of the wear is strictly imaginary and I, much to the joy of many, am very close to growing up and finding another hobby. I guess I can be happy that it took nearly 70 years to reach that level of maturity. :)

You and I HAVE to meet up for a coffee before you jack WDW in for good.

Agreed but the question is to what purpose?? I am usually critical of stuff I think can be done better. This isnt out of a desire to armchair quarterback, or to glory in a failed attempt at something new, but more so to encourage the parks to be the best they can be. I KNOW it can be done, and I am sad when it isnt. Marie

But do the discussions here have any impact on how Disney runs the park? I really doubt it. I think we do it because we enjoy discussing the parks with other people who share the common interest. No different then a group of people sitting around after their favorite sports team list and game and talking (or even arguing) about what the team could have done differently.

Yes, but it is usually, unless alcohol is involved, just a friendly back and forth in relation to our favorite teams. Here if you don't agree with the negative you are a pixie duster or work for Disney or worse. But, why should I be concerned, nothing in life makes even an iota of sense anymore.

It's amazing how much effort they put into queues these days. Some could make an argument that they spend more time on the queue than ride development. Also, curious since the major rides get FastPass, many guest never see the queue as intended and miss a substantial part of the show.

People hot, in the sun, and bored to tears do not make the kind of guests that buy merch and come back often. Pre-show queues mitigate all that and enhance the theming, making going to a theme park much more enticing than a Six Flags.

Not arguing about the existence or necessity of immersive queues. I love them in so many ways. Much better than walking back and forth seeing the same people every 2 -3 minutes. Sometimes I just wish the creativity and budget of some of the items in the queue were used more on ride development or execution. Also, I do think it is important to mention that so much of the ride "story" is developed in the queue and FastPass causes many to miss it.
