Just a quick response to WDW1974's earlier post about perceptions about American government overseas.

Not only do I have several friends overseas in the UK, France, and in the former Soviet countries, I was recently in Central Asia for two weeks.

Their view of our country and our politcal leaders is more varied. President Bush is not always viewed as the poor leader WDW1974 has heard. In many cases, there is great respect for him and how he has led the country. Of course, first term was viewed better than second! But from many, he still has earned respect post-911. Of course, not everyone agrees, but more folks approved of him than you might think.

The same can be said for President Obama. Some are pleased but some are also surprised that our president would represent his country so poorly to the rest of the world. This is particularly true from my friends who lived through the Soviet Union pre and post fall. They are very concerned America is headed a socialist direction at his hand.

How this all effects Disney World? Who really knows. But I just wanted to give a different and another perspective on how some in the world view us and our last two leaders.

Imagineering have the plans ready to go. It was Orlando who cut of the mouse money.

Cinemagique... a great attraction, but alas I believe the rights issues for all the films would be too costly since they have a French exclusive deal for them.

Ok then I retract what I said., I'll keep my faith in Imagineering, but the Orlando team grrrrrrrrrr :brick:. So I guess between Imagineering and Siemens theres still a little hope if Siemens wants to give money for those plans to be implemented.

I have faith in certain areas of Imagineering namely the ones in charge of Disneyland Resort.

Apparently 74's credentials extend much beyond this particular site. You might try searching others before you get rallied up.

Yeah I get it, Spirit of 74, Laughing Place, blah blah blah...show me some news that he broke before anyone else knew about it and I'll change my opinion.

Yeah, didn't think there was any.

Here goes the WDW Hater defending da Mouse ...

First, the plans haven't been announced. Everything I've heard and pieced together leads me to believe that F-Land will be getting at least three attractions of some kind (and no, I am not counting meet and greets), as well as new shopping and dining facilities and much better theming all around as well as plussing to existing attractions.

Now ... we all know plans change. But everything says this is going to be significant.

Beyond that, Jungle Cruise is next up for its plussing (delayed for 3-4 years thus far) much like Mansion, Pirates, Small World, HoP have all gotten.

And there are still plans (in flux naturally) to reopen the Adventureland Veranda with a pirates themed buffet experience in time for the next film.

In other words, there's a lot on the table (I know there are a few other things being talked about too) for MK.

From a fanboi's standpoint, I'll gladly sacrifice (not that I, or any of us have a choice) a short coaster shoehorned into an existing facility at my least favorite WDW park for bringing some life to the No. 1 theme park in the world.

Okay, if FL turns out to be more than TLM and m&gs I'll be a very happy D&G.;)

I can think of something better to occupy the Adventureland Veranda:lookaroun I think another Pirate's attraction in Adventureland would be overkill unless it stays in Carribbean plaza. What's next? Jack Sparrow's Treehouse:lookaroun

Wow it took 16 page before Mom had to say something, you guy better behave :p

And I would just like to say I am no where near being a "disney insider" Im just a regular disney lover, and I hope that the monster Inc. coaster does come to "MGM". Whether it comes in 2 or 5 years what does it matter. MGM needs another big ticket ride to at least easy the congestion of midway mania, and to make it a full day park. I know the days I go to "MGM" I wake up late take my time doing the rides and by 6 Im waiting for fantasimic to open up so I could get my seats. Its a far more different experience then going to Epcot or MK. :lookaroun Just my own opinion

Not sure where your seeing him break news of the wand removal. All he says is that it was the beginning of more things to come, like the removal of the graveyard at Epcot. I don't know, but Im pretty sure the last time I was at Epcot, the graveyard was still there.

He says "wand removal" in his first post. Try getting some glasses or trolling elsewhere.

For someone who publicly claims to have "left" the site you sure do adore the attention you get here.

I'm sorry that I wasted my time trying to look for something to show you that he is legit. I should've known that your opinion has been formed and nothing anyone does can change that. BTW, it would be nice if you were not so hostile about the matter.

Anyway, I'm done with this one. We all know where it is heading. :brick:

This answered my exact question which I was just about to post until I ran across this post. I was going to ask what else besides TLM & M&G's was coming. Good news about JC, maybe they will put the fish in from DL (though DL's hardly works )

I believe the fish will be joining MK's JC as well as some stuff from HKDL and a few new flourishes. But again, with Disney and budgets you never know.

Space Mountain was supposed to be a whole lot more than new track, gates, a few cheap special effects, asbestos removal and general cleaning. Far, far more.

Recently there has been posts of Speedway removal, Skyway removal for a TS restaurant, and an Adventureland expansion beyond the train tacks. I'm just curious what you've heard/your opinions on these subjects.

I've seen them (or heard). All I care to say right now is two are totally ridiculous and not happening anymore than the national healthcare disaster getting fixed tonight. One is seriously being considered.

Can't wait to see how the DOM's try to spin this one. Yet another foolish move on Disney's part Oh well maybe one day DHS will get a scaled down version of the new Ratatouille E-ticket that just got greenlit for Paris
.quote]

Actually heard that Epcot would be getting this one. :lookaroun

Nope.

Not now anyway.

And while this will be an awesome attraction, I don't think it has any place at EPCOT. Studios would be a better fit. But I have heard they want to keep some exclusives at parks/resorts for a while before cloning them with some exceptions like TSMM, Star Tours 2.0, PhilharMagic etc ...

Is this inspite of Rasulo or because of him?? Are they agreeing just to agree, and are they agreeing with Rasulo or trying to beat him out??? Are they playing the company card game and kissing but to save their jobs or did Rasulo finally get a clue on how to handle things the right way (wishful thinking)??

From what I've been told, everyone at WDI pretty much is frustrated with the way Bruce is running the place for Jay ... my friend Lee MacDonald of LP.com termed Bruce 'Jay's hatchet man' and that is what was confirmed to me.

When you have everyone from Tom to Tony (to many other 'names' at WDI) taking issues behind the scenes, you've got a very unpleasant work environment.

Apparently, Bruce is so concerned over leaks and info getting out to the 'online fan sites' that WDI's Press and Pub spokeswoman Marilyn Waters was quietly demoted from Glendale to Celebration earlier this year.

There's a lot of talent at WDI right now on edge and not knowing what tomorrow' going to bring. And that's with more on the development docket than in quite a few years.

FWIW, and this is just a very educated opinion, but I would bet that both Tom and Tony are history within 2-3 years tops. High salaries. Divas. Very political. And they can always hire em back as consultants if needed.

For someone who publicly claims to have "left" the site you sure do adore the attention you get here.

This is what he says in regards to the wand removal:

I've also heard from some very kind Spirits deep inside the scary corridors and cubicles where decisions are talked about in hushed tones that the wand removal and upcoming changes to the cemetary out front and the removal of the remaining Millennium chintz from Innoventions Plaza are just the start.

He's not breaking news about the wand removal with that statement. I think you need glasses or need to learn how to read. Why are you so willing to accept the fact that yes he guessed correctly about the wand coming down, but was wrong about changes to the cemetary? Anyone can say "I've heard this or that" and then proceed to make guesses and eventually you'll get lucky and hit on something that happens.

And in regards to leaving the site, I had hoped that after a hiatus I would be able to return and the ridiculousness that goes on around here would be banished, but all that happens is people are banned and come back as other ridiculous personalities.
