Do we think Poppins is back on or scrapped? For myself, I think this could go 50/50 hoping it get’s revived but I am not so sure.
I think that's low hanging fruit for them. He's already said he wanted to re-fund that project, so it should be an easy win to announce it's back on the table. Better of course if they improve the concept, but we keep saying they need more C-ticket people eaters.

I'm pretty optimistic about this one, though that's in my nature. I'm kind of 60/40 on Imagination refurb announcement, though it won't be done for at least 3 years if they do something. And they need to name drop Tony Baxter as a consultant on the project.

Wasn't Pixie Hollow scrapped and replaced with Seven Dwarfs Mine Train? Plans changed but that was a huge upgrade.

I'm actually struggling to think of an example of what you're describing besides the Avengers E-ticket, which wasn't actually "scrapped," it was delayed due to COVID.

And no, deviations from concept art don't count, because concept art is never intended to be architectural drawings.

I also don't care about restaurants or hotels. What actual ATTRACTIONS were announced at something like a D23 and then scrapped?
I mean, off the top of my head would be the theater, and then a bunch of stuff for Galaxy Edge.

My personal take on this d23 is just that they’ve been announcing so much the last few years, for things not coming for another 5 years, that they just did not have much left. I mean, Marvel announced like 20 projects on that disney+ day last year. Same for Star Wars and I’m afraid the parks as well.

It’s not that nothings coming up. A lot is coming up, they’ve just announced it so super early that the next few years are already covered.

Josh is better at these things than Chapek is, and they both know it. Chapek is a manager, he's not a snowman.

With just a few hours until the parks panel, I thought it would be good to put out my final predictions for WDW. The top choices are the predictions I think that are realistic and have the greatest chance of being announced. The wildcards are exactly that wildcards, if some seem outlandish that is the point of a wildcard.

MK:
  • TRON opening
  • New Fireworks Show for 100th or Happily Ever After Returns
  • Tiana’s Bayou Adventure detailed
Wildcard:
  • Space Mountain refurb (unlikely)
  • Stitch’s Great Escape replacement (unlikely)
EPCOT:
  • 50/50 on Poppins being revived
  • Spaceship Earth Refurb revived
  • Moana opening
Wildcards:
  • Coco moves into Mexico
  • Imagination refurb (maybe if we keep saying it, eventually it will happen)
  • My super wild card for this park is actually Encanto. Columbia pavilion with a headliner Encanto attraction (EDIT: To add, I’m not sure if I necessarily want this but I can see it happening, could be fun if done right)
Hollywood Studios:
  • Fantasmic! Return
  • More characters in Galaxy’s Edge
  • Roundup Rodeo BBQ opening date or timeframe
Wildcards:
  • Rock n Rollercoaster retheme
  • Animation courtyard or echo lake refurb (this is extremely unlikely but I’ll put it in as a wildcard)
Animal Kingdom:
  • Chesters and Hester’s Dino-O-Rama finally reaches extinction. A large scale e-ticket attraction is put into that area. 60/40 Dinosaur isn’t going anywhere.
  • Some kind of show?
Wildcard:
  • Pandora expansion

I’m going in with managed expectations. I am expecting more details on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Tron’s opening date and an update on EPCOT. What’s the over/under on them announcing whatever they are doing with annual passes?

To be honest, if that's all they announce after a 3-4 year hiatus it is going to look REAL bad on Disney. Shareholders will also be concerned that WDW leadership isn't up to the task of taking on Universals growing threat.

Pixie Hollow, which included the Mater’s / Aliens whip ride, was replaced by Storybook Circus. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train replaced the Cinderella and Aurora meet and greet complex.

The Avengers E-Ticket may end being quite a bit less ambitious, and that’s not necessarily pandemic related.

“Concept art” is sometimes actual working drawings.

Oh you mean the three things that were delayed due to the ONCE IN A CENTURY GLOBAL PANDEMIC?
Main Street Theater was killed long before the pandemic. The Epcot Festival Center was always an Iger vanity project that never would have survived without him.
