You have decided that bashing the truly MAGICal WDC, that loves and cherishes Walt's Legacy, its Guests, its fans, its CMs is the way to get attention like that crapface @WDW1974 (you can tag yourself? who knew?) does. Why don't you change the name of your site to UNIversalMagic.com? Just stay home and the lines (for meet and greets and $20 cheeseburgers ... and attractions that would need work to be termed 'ghetto' ) will be shorter for the rest of us. :mad::mad::mad:

(Seriously, there are so many desperate attempts to cut pennies that one wonders just how bad the financial overruns -- and GRAFT -- really have been in China.)

Having finished a conversation with someone in Shanghai, it seems another problem is that the Chinese aesthetic is so extremely different from Western ones, they have ignored instructions and built things their way anyway. You have heard accurately. Some things have been rebuilt three and four times now ... Disney is now actively paying Chinese workers to do nothing while Americans, Aussies, Europeans etc are being paid as well to fix things. Again, this isn't Disney's Resort in China. This is the CCP's Disney Resort in Shanghai.

And there are very few people who seem to get the distinction, why it matters and what it means.

I'm wondering why they didn't just have those people build everything in the first place if China is so notorious for crappy building quality.

It's simple really in China jobs are for the Chinese as China in its own way protects its workers unlike in the US

Please don't flame on labor conditions and worker rights they are indeed a horror show. But China puts China's citizens first unlike the US where we put the well being of multinational corporations first

I know, its my first post. Why not start here in a spirited thread! Have to start somewhere ( who do I see to get my D&Ger membership card? ) Just when you think it couldn't get any worse there seems to be a new bottom. But it isn't over folks. Cast member moral is at an all time low. It hasn't even come close to hitting the bottom yet.

Allowing that to happen speaks volumes about the quality of the project management employed by Disney, Unless of course the Disney PM's were not allowed on property which given the history may have been the case.

I've worn a white hardhat at many times at many sites supervising the installation/repair of technical infrastructure so to hear that the crews just built what they wanted irrespective of the prints speaks volumes.

China is a Communist/Socialist country and the very basis of a Communist/Socialist economy is that the State, as the "representative" of The People, :joyfull: (Sorry I had to laugh at that concept) runs all business and makes all cooperate decisions.
That's because they believe they're so much smarter than everyone else........:rolleyes:
