You sir, are WDW Management's dream guest. "Wow, half this stuff isn't working! Who cares I'm at Disney!"

I love these parks. I have a passion that comes from being a cast member, and I want to have pride in the company I work for. Things would never been in this condition when Disney was on top of it's game. But WDW Management doesn't give 2 spits about the guests. All they care about is their bottom line, and you as a fan, should not be happy about that.

Again "SHOW TRUMPS EFFICIENCY!" But of course, what do I know? They only repeated that 900 times during Traditions, which teaches what this company is about to new hires. Maybe it's time management took the course over.

And just curious, who should dictate what goes on inside the gates? Because if it's not the guests, the people who are supposed to be enjoying these rides, I have no idea who it should be.
You maam are Disneys nightmare employee. You get or got paid to be there. That dosent give you the right to run the show. Invest 20 billion and open a theme park of your own then well see how long your ideals hold up. And when an angry ex-Cm bad mouths you on a Forum the circle will be complete.

First of all, I'm going to ignore the "ma'am" comment. Second of all I'm one hell of a cast member, and I don't mean to toot my own horn, but you came after me. I've been told time and time again by long time guests that I'm the best Jungle Cruise Skipper they have ever had. Don't even act like you know what kind of employee I am. Because guess what? At WDW the magic lives in our cast, not in our management. We know when a ride or show isn't living up to its potential, and we know when quality is slipping. And it IS slipping.

Disney is supposed to be about quality. And when a ride opens before it's ready, that is not even close to quality.

You can call me a bad employee all you want, but I know what this company should be about.

And you never answered my question. Who should dictate what should go on in the gates?

You can call me sir but I cant return the compliment? Very odd. edit- i just read your comment and honestly I didnt realize you were a guy so i do apologize for that. I came here to find out some things about a Vacation and have been overwhelmed by the negative rants of fans.

People have the right to say no.
No, I dont like disney anymore because the quality has slipped.
No I wont work for your company anymore because im fed up with the lack of commitment to the fans.
No, the guy in the forum asked a question so I decided to read him the riot act.
Are you gonna honestly sit there and tell me that its not ridiculous for someone to say" IM ed because there spending money on something i dont enjoy? "
The 40,000 kids who go to the park that day are gonna be thrilled that the parade has a christmas theme. Isnt that the majority of who the parks are aimed at? Kids and familys?

The people like you who post in this forum are the superfans and obviuosly sensitive to the ongoings in the Parks.
I can appreciate that. I have apologized twice now for upsetting people.
That dosent change the fact that you are an employee. you have a job that im sure you are great at because you care as much as you do.
That still does not give you any insight as to what goes on in the boardroom and behind closed doors. If they are dropping the ball most people in the real world havent picked up on it.
You also have the right to say -I am not spending money at your park because I dont agree with what goes on there.

Disney countinues to make money and I am sure that they spend an awful lot of time and effort trying to figure how to make more every year.

If your favorite band puts out a bad album do you then have the right to say to the band " I didnt like the last album you should use a different producer and studio engineer?" No -You dont buy the album.

If Its gotten that bad than why do you all still go there 3 or 4 times a year?

Im just making the point that the big picture is 99% of the people going to disney still love it. If you are less than happy going there then why countinue? Spend your money down the road at universal.

Disney will listen to this kinda stuff and let the Superfans decide what goes on inside the gates when they stop making profits. In otherwords NEVER.

You have confused my negativity for dislike of the parks. I love the parks. I have fun all the time when I'm there. That doesn't mean that there has been a distinct change in views when it comes to WDW Management. They are all about the bottom line and it is WRONG.

Oh, but it does give me insight into what goes on in the board room. I've spoken to Imagineers on a constant basis. I know what management tells them, how they're budgets are slashed left and right. I've spoken to my managers who have been told by the upper managers that our rehab isn't going to be as detailed as it should be because "it'll be fine with just a few touch ups," when we have hippos' heads falling off and show scenes constantly breaking down during operation. POTC routinely breaks down once or more a day. That shouldn't happen.

And in all honesty the reason I do still work for them is that I plan on making my way up the chain. I plan on making changes. Because changes need to be made. Are the parks still fun? Of course they are. But the current disregard for quality is alarming.

Disney countinues to make money and I am sure that they spend an awful lot of time and effort trying to figure how to make more every year.

Again, I know they are a business, but when you preach "Show trumps Efficiency" to every new hire like it is the bible, yet you are constantly putting on shows that are the bare minimum, you are being incredibly hypocritical. WDW tells us to go the extra mile, when they fail to do so for the guests.

EDIT: This is a quote from Walt. Sure it's about Disneyland, but I'm sure if he was around he would say the same thing about WDW: "Disneyland is a work of love. We didn't go into Disneyland just with the idea of making money."

Well, I'm not real pleased with some of the stuff that was made worse during the refurb(The Sun Bonnets were actually better shape BEFORE the refurb, and so was the Henry w/Sammy AA), but I do like the improvement to the audio.

Will somebody out there PLEASE at least shoot another video of the show? I really want to listen to how the finale sounds(In the video before it cuts off I heard a quick snippet of it and I love how the music is actually loud and audible instead of being drowned out by the vocal track. I'd love to hear how the whole thing sounds now)

Well I am humbled by your devotion to The fans and Hope you make it to where it is you are looking to go.
Again I do not claim to be knowledgable about disney But you obviously are so I accept the idea that The quality is slipping.
It strikes me as a bad idea that a person in the employ of Disney would come on a forum and take the company apart.
I mean if I can follow the link to your Jungle cruise on youtube so can your boss.
Is anyone really under the delusion that disney is not a business?
If they have had to cut corners over the fiscal mess we are currently in then that is a sign of the times.
We all have the right to do what we will with our income.
I for one am really looking forward to my upcoming trip and can tell you all that the amount of change in the parks and on property over the last 11 years has been mind-boggling.
None of that is cheap. I could go to europe with my family for the same price as a disney trip.
What I do know about Disney is that they are involved in a lot of ventures and will countinue to do what even they deem neccesary to keep the doors open and the money coming in.
Its a shame that its become something That Walt Disney would probably not even recognize. But its not 1975 anymore.
To anyone who I upset It was not my intention. Again to be clear I am sorry But I will never understand why someone is "ED" that a Parade is getting a xmas makeover. It seems a little overboard to me and I sure wouldent drop a dime in a place that made me "ED" Can we now move on ? Thanks

I may not have made my point correctly. The Company as a whole is great. What they are doing at Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland, and Hong Kong Disneyland is fantastic. Feature Animation is on the cusp of it's third golden age, and I can't be more excited.

It's the WDW upper management. It's not as bad as the Pressler/Harris Disneyland, but it's not great either. They only care about making themselves better. They don't care about the parks, guests, or cast for that matter.

Is anyone really under the delusion that disney is not a business?

Oh, I would completely understand if they just started cutting corners, but it's been going on for the past few years, when attendance was through the roof.

We all have the right to do what we will with our income.

I can't wait to go back either. I love going back and helping to make the magic for people. I love entertaining them, and I love going to the parks and having fun.

I agree, it's just that it's not all about the money.

To anyone who I upset It was not my intention.

No offense taken. I hope I didn't come off as confrontational, I'm just really passionate.

If I can make it there on Saturday, I'll film the whole thing for you.

I can tell you without doubt that it would be nice to walk in and have a perfect day at Disney. Im hoping for a few myself. I just gotta believe that they decided it was better to open the Cbj and work out the kinks over the first few days/week than to wait any longer.

Actually, I for one would rather Disney take their time and open their attractions right after a refurb then have half of the effects not working properly because they were rushed to get it open because Disney said it would be open on such and such day.

The problem is, then you have people complaining...oh...Disney said they'd be open this day...and they aren't. Boo Disney. It's almost a catch 22. Guests want to know how long a refurb is supposed to be scheduled for, and even throw fits when there's a refurb during the time of year they're going. Oh no...my favorite ride is closed...curse Disney. But then again...isn't it better for Disney to finish what they were working on if things aren't at least 90-95% working.

Actually, if I were wishing for stuff, I wish Disney would inflate their rehab times by anywhere from a couple of days to a week, just to make sure they finish in time. If they get done early...fine...open early. But too often lately, it seems they cut it down to the wire and then aren't ready when they say they're gonna be.

Its a great place where you can have you views and I mine and hey you taught me a bunch of stuff I didnt know. Its important in life to tread lightly and keep an open mind. I appauld your devotion and passion for what you do. It is way to easy to misinterpet intention in the age of the internet, blogs and forums. You have to agree with me that Being "ed" that the Block party parade is part of the 2009 christmas season is just a bit overboard. Cmon at least give me that. I hope to have you as a Guide on my trip and wish you well in your Career. Best wishes and Peace.
P.s.- If anyone should decide what should go on inside the gates than it should be you. :animwink:

Oh yea, I agree with you on that one. I love Block Party, and I think a Christmas Version would be great, especially to go a long with the Osbourne
Lights at the Studios.

Thanks for the luck, I'm going to need it. Especially after the desrtuctive round of tests I just took.

 Well absolute power corrupts absolutely. I'd probably need someone to make sure I don't go crazy.

I work in a tech. field and while I wouldent begin to guess what the guys at WDW go thru I can honestly tell you that these things either go really, really well or turn into a complete nightmare. You never know what youre getting into until you are elbow deep in parts. The pressure of keeping everyone happy is just overwhelming and Its like a circus act trying to keep alot of balls in the air. God bless anyone whos every hand a job where people stand over your back offer useless information and ask how much longer every 5 minutes. I find it sad that people feel like they got shafted after an effort is made to improve an attraction. Give them a little time and i bet its back at 100% really soon.

No, I understand what you're saying, totally. I get that sometimes projects can just be a bear once you get into it...but if that's the case...then decide, hey, maybe we should keep it closed a week or so longer and update your website to let people know. But to open things that obviously shouldn't have been opened on time because it was promised it would be open that day isn't the best solution either.

Like I said, catch 22. Unfortunately people would be mad either way, I guess.

Anyway, back on topic!

I saw it today and it looks much better. I was able to talk to one of the project guys who was watching the show and he said there's still some things they need to work out, but it's all nit-picky stuff. I agreed.

Still, if you haven't, you need to go see the show. I wish I could thank the teams that have worked so hard on this show the last month and especially the last few days. It looks 1000 times better than it did on reopening day.

Hey im with you 100% there. They should add 25% to the estimated time and if they get it done early they look like heros. It seems that people are already reporting huge corrections since opening day so I guess there back on track.

It's managements fault

It's simple, hire quality people and don't reopen an attraction until the maintainers say it's ready. They are doing the best the can so trust in the technicians.

THERE IS NO WAY MANAGEMENT NEEDED CBJ OPENED ON A SPECIFIC DATE. JUST OPEN IT WHEN IT'S READY! EMBARASSING MICRO-MANAGEMENT. DISNEY SHOULD BE ABOVE THAT.
