Yeah? You try telling an up and coming writing team not to take a substandard deal with Disney and see what happens.
It just seems like the kind of thing where if they want a royalty deal so badly, they're going to have to go with a client other than Disney. One can't have their cake and eat it too.

You are not understanding what I am saying. They do not care about a royalty deal. They just want the Disney job, regardless of the fact that the deal terms are deplorable.
It's understandable why they'd want a job with Disney, but if Disney is unwilling to budge, the artist has to make a choice as to whether or not working for Disney is worth no royalty and substandard compensation.

The beauty of the free market is that just as Disney isn't obligated to pay them a royalty, they're not obligated to work for Disney in the first place.

It is a very nice polished brass peg to have on their resume that holds an attractive power for future engagements. Just like getting DCP and Disney management institute entries on your CV.

The beauty of a free market in accounting terms is the tangible "Good Will" that comes being associated with certain brands. Its the difference between being offered weeknight gigs at a cheap beer joint where your only protection from the flying beer bottles is a chicken wire fence and being able to sell songs to establish artists.

I understand that. My point was that one cannot demand royalties out of a company that is unwilling to pay for them. If a contract with Disney is something that is important to the artist, they must be willing to take that loss in order to pay for their ticket to entry to "the big leagues" that comes with having worked for Disney.

Ideally, once they have that "ticket" in hand, they will have access to other big name companies and artists who are more flexible and generous with their terms.

A rumor was posted on FB that Country Bears would open at park open today instead of 11am when it usually opens. Can someone verify if true? No, I'm not there. Just wondering.

Yeah. I saw that. On a FB group, someone was saying a CM (as opposed to a bus driver) said that the CBJ would open along with park open today to accommodate as many people as possible on its final day.
