Yes, but even that verbiage has been removed. Now it just says it is recommended for unvaccinated guests.
I'm aware. I was answering the question about old verbiage, hence the word was. Not current. This is current

I guess we should start one. I understand that since they have the reservation system they don't want people to get around it completely by reserving Epcot and just tapping in and then heading to a "sold out" park. However, 2PM is ridiculous. If they are going to have a restriction it should be noon at the latest. I'd prefer something like 3 hours after the park is open to non-resort guests.
Pretty sure we were told the 2pm time was the point at which guests started leaving the parks, thus opening more capacity for those hopping.

Whether that still holds true I don’t know. But if they are going to have a capacity limit of any kind it makes sense that they want to control it. And therefore need to make sure that some guests do leave before allowing others in who didn’t reserve that park.

We all know they chose 2pm to keep crowds from rushing DHS for RotR VQs.

This is bean counting now, nothing more and I find it utterly obnoxious after 3 trips with it.

Do we? I seem to remember opinion was split.

Park hopping was introduced some time after the parks re-opened, January 2021 I think. So the “must have a park reservation” rule pre-dated the “no hopping prior to 2pm” rule. And I’m pretty sure there were charts that corroborated the fact that wait times dropped off after 2pm.

I’m not saying I like the 2pm hopping rule. I don’t like the park reservation system period. But I can see how they benefit Disney. Especially in the early days after re-opening when they really were limiting capacity.

I'm just going to say welcome to the covid thread. Not all discussions are trying to be "correct" 🤣

Having lived through VQs for a few trips, I do suspect that was huge into why they chose the wording they did for the 2pm but I don't really care the real excuse. I just care that it sucks

I can see it being appealed because the reality is one person (a judge rated as unqualified by the American Bar Association) stopped the people in charge from being able to implement public health measures.

Regardless of whether or not one feels the time had come to end the mandate, I still want the government to retain the ability to implement restrictions when appropriate.
The only reason why I say no is due to the timing of it all. Either they appeal asap or they don't. They only had until May 3rd. The last extension was wishy washy at best. I don't fault people for being cautious but I also don't love the idea thay it really was "we're not sure"

As much as I jest here (and I noticed I really do at times for levity sake), I really do want the ability to have rules made when appropriate. The when appropriate for now even I question and I think I was a more conservative masker.

I am officially bowing out of this thread for the final time. I think, IMHO, it's time for it to end. The last of the mask mandates from the government is gone, the case counts are down across the board, people are back to their normal lives, it's time to move on. Nothing is being accomplished at this point by continuing to rehash the same issues here. As far as I am concerned, Covid is behind us and life goes on. See you all in the actual Disney-related threads!

Given the number of folks who basically have given themselves the equivalent of a part-time job posting in this thread day after day, week after week, month after month, and now year after year - I have zero doubt that if allowed, a small number of people will continue to make thousands of posts and keep it going as long as it is open.
It sure is nice to see a mod laughing at the posters who keep this site going.
