My question is will there be enough controversy remaining to sustain this thread making it to 6000?
Given the number of folks who basically have given themselves the equivalent of a part-time job posting in this thread day after day, week after week, month after month, and now year after year - I have zero doubt that if allowed, a small number of people will continue to make thousands of posts and keep it going as long as it is open.

If you want to protect yourself (you or someone you live with are immuno-compromised, or, you're currently in a hot spot where cases are spiking), then you can continue to mask up (including if you have a cold and you shouldn't be out and about anyway... be kind and don't spread the cold). How?...

Disney has updated its mask policy - masks are now optional on all forms of transportation

"Face coverings are optional for Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations, as well as Disney transportation. It is recommended Guests who are not fully vaccinated continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters and on enclosed transportation."

And this line will keep that annoying drop down around for a long time. :(

Now that masks are gone I think this concludes "Coronavirus and Walt Disney World." The only offspring we are left with are Genie+$, the annoying park reservation system and having to wait until 2 PM to park hop. Since those aren't actually related to COVID (despite Disney's pretending), they can be discussed on their own threads.

I think it would take some kind of nightmare scenario to bring back any mitigation measures at WDW.

I do only work part time and got all my work for the week done yesterday while my office is closed this week for passover. It's freezing out so not much else to do today 😁

There is still plexiglass in some of the queues, we can get at least a few more pages out of that! ;)

As was prophesied....

In Disney fashion,

In typical Disney fashion, they'll be taken like a thief in the night. Or three nights. Or a few months. Oh, heck, give it a year.

You don't understand Disney.

65% of them will be removed this week.

Another 30% in two weeks.

Another 3% in three weeks.

Two attractions will keep the plexi up, and no one will know why.

Any luck they'll take 3 Caballeros down soon? I hate that one.

Was the old verbiage (that I forgot to notice before refreshing the page) when they had the grid "recommended" or "required" for unvaccinated?

Not that there was any checking of this, but "required" would be a stronger push than just "recommended".

Is there a thread for that?

That one is super obnoxious, and watching a thread for updates on it would be nice. Assuming it get's updated. 🤞

I guess we should start one. I understand that since they have the reservation system they don't want people to get around it completely by reserving Epcot and just tapping in and then heading to a "sold out" park. However, 2PM is ridiculous. If they are going to have a restriction it should be noon at the latest. I'd prefer something like 3 hours after the park is open to non-resort guests.

I know it's not the fastest way to MK, but on past trips when we've stayed at an Epcot resort, we've enjoyed walking through Epcot and taking the monorail to MK for the day. Clearly not rope dropping with that plan, but we really dislike the bus. With the current restrictions, that's not even possible to do. We cannot have been the only people to do that, probably with some breakfast in Epcot on the way.

The inability to change a reservation instead of cancel and book a new one without a risk window of getting none in the middle is stupid too.

All of these are clearly not COVID related, since they're basically done with all COVID mitigations except for some random plexiglass.

It wasn't required. Thought I had a screen shot but I don't. I think it was expected.
