Speak for yourself.
I don't live in Tennessee but as far as I can tell they are doing it because they don't want to be accused of solicitation of minors, because that is exactly what it is.
I'm sure parents of TN (you know the citizens who vote there) felt it wasn't the place of an government entity to be pushing vaccines on to their children. I've got no problem with that as long as parents are legally responsible for the health and care of their children under 18 then that is who should be being "pushed" into getting their kids vaccinated.
Good on them for standing up for what is right. Hopefully more states follow suit and stop using children as political pawns when it comes to vaccines.

I do live in TN.

Your statement is ridiculous.

Solicitation of minors?!

When you think you've seen it all......

Yes, that comes directly from the State Health Dept.
I guess you prefer to just take edited articles from your trusted news sources? Let me guess which ones those are........

Standing up for making sure kids don’t know they are vulnerable to diseases and are allowed to change that fact. That’s some serious nonsense.

Decades of effective, responsible and life saving public health policy be damned.

Good grief.

By your logic, public awareness campaigns aimed to curb teenage smoking and drunk driving also amount to solicitation of minors.

The only think that is nonsense is believing that the government can do a better job taking care of your children than you can.
I mean can you imaging going through life thinking you need some higher authority to make decisions for you and your family?

You've already said you don't live here.....

I'll take my sources from here vs someone's sources not from here....

LOL, OK.
You do know the internet works all over the country, even the world right.
For those who want facts it's pretty easy to find them. You do have to look beyond your biased news sources, may even have to delve into some actual research and go down a few rabbit holes.
But you just keep your "believing" whatever you want.

I was speaking for myself, that is the point of anyone’s post so have no idea what you are trying to say.
When the Tennessee chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics comes out and says this is wrong that’s enough for me.
Straight from the Tennessean:

oh by the way.. they have reversed their decision after being bombarded by advocates and doctors and scientists and anyone not politically motivated. So your argument gets shut down over and over for what’s right.

In case my understanding of the term “solicitation” was different from how it’s used in Tennessee law, I looked up the relevant section of the state code. Here it is:

Could you explain how promoting vaccines to children constitutes solicitation according to this definition?

We should probably also not interfere then when children are abused. All parents know what’s best for their kids. 🙄

The government also thinks it is wrong to not feed your children. The government also thinks it’s wrong to beat your children as punishment or even just for fun. Should we stand up against that?

See, logic is not only necessary, but when you use it, things become pretty obvious.

Great examples.

So many strawman arguments. Not going to waste my time with them, but I'm sure you all know that which is why you post them.
How else are you going to avoid a real discussion where you might have to concede that you may be wrong on some things. Or that others who feel differently may actually have valid, logical reasons. I know it's just easier to paint people as conspiracy theorists, or fringe whatever than admit you may be wrong or god forbid understand where someone is coming from.

On that, have a great day everyone, I've got to get ready for my WDW trip!!!!

The deflection to the border is starting to get old.
Especially since nobody was saying that until they were told to say that by their favorite talking heads.
Do you not understand that the Government is flying and busing illegals all over the country?
Do you not understand that is completely irrelevant to this discussion about coronavirus?

I will gladly say I do not understand why any parent would want their child to risk getting a disease that is easily preventable. The idea that we are worse off without polio is nonsense.
