Sort of. It’s more along the lines of... should WDW currently be open.. all things considered.

I wrote that all Florida theme parks should be closed right now. It wasn’t a demand, of course, just my own opinion. I stand by it.
They really probably should be closed…conditions as they currently are…

that doesn’t mean shut down restaurants and padlock the schools in 50 states…but amusement parks? Probably for now. Just to discourage people from entering the state that is being defiantly uncontrolled.

now would they even consider it? No…not at all. So Disney should do what it can to protect themselves. The unions labor getting on board with the vax requirements would be a good start

I have a friend who's a single mom and was a nurse in the hospital up until 6 months ago. With the additional hours at work she wasn't able to find childcare to cover and had to switch to a nursing job at a private practice.
Nurses I know, friends and family still do their 530am-6pm or 530pm- 6am shift 3 days a week , 4 days off even though the hospital is overrun with patients due to the pandemic. They have not been required to work more hours at this time.

I can see requiring masks and social distancing but to close parks is just crazy. Why should anyone who is vaccinated be denied a vacation? Those who are not vaccinated should not have the right to deny the rest of us anything. Now, for those who say WDW should close because of the spike, why don't you concentrate of parks not even requiring masks indoors.

Just saying..again.. vaccination passports would stop the “close the park” “ keep the park open” debate. Would also let cruises get back out there. Also would get more people the jab without a doubt. The only ones that would complain are the ones refusing to get it. I’m not talking about ones that can’t for particular reasons. In my head there’s no downfall to it. Cue the infringing arguments. 🙂

It’s not controversial to me. It’s just odd to bring up as a major point. I’m guessing the race in Nashville and the motorcycle gathering in Sturgis will also have major contributions to the spread.
It would be great if these places held vaccination clinics. One church in Jacksonville FL had 6 of their own die of covid in the last 2 weeks. Now the church has gone ahead to make their church in addition to church services , a vaccination clinic.

I think you missed the point?

“why should anyone be denied a vacation?”🙄

because it’s a vacation…not a civil Liberty. What’s astonishing is how desperate people are to equate travel with a anything else written in the 1700s that was actually written. Public health isn’t covered. It never was and health precautions have held up under court challenge for centuries. This is a rhetorical argument.

now…they aren’t closing parks so it’s also moot. But Florida didn’t help itself at all here. They are and have been taking a political gamble and the delta has not cooperated. Now it’s heads down and hope it “works itself out”. No need for name-calling, mud slinging, ideological statements at this point…it is what it is and that’s what it is. It’s where we are.

It’s the old tried and true…” look over here at this” . Magicians have been doing it for centuries.
If the migrants are the problem and source of Texas problems, then one should assume that the counties nearest the border will have the most cases right? Let’s look at the map and see what counties in Texas have the most cases per capita:

As you can see cases are not centered around the Mexico border, but the Gulf border. Clearly illegal aliens are the source, but it’s migrants from Atlantis not Mexico.

I think most of us know this. But that is a great chart.

While I don't believe illegal migrants are the sole cause of the surge, situations like this certainly don't help the US control the spread of COVID.

Admitting that won't make you a crazy conspiracist, I promise.

Nope, just put the blame for Texas' current COVID surge where it lies- the 66% of the population that is not fully vaccinated despite every chance to do so.
Iceland, 93% vaccinated yet seeing their largest rise in cases yet. Also, a majority of new cases are breakthrough. Per your reasoning, we should "blame" the vaccinated. Just to be clear, I'm not saying we actually should blame the vaccinated. Blaming any specific sector is ridiculous and dangerous, IMO.

Of all the counties on the southern borders from San Diego to Miami, those bordering Mexico are mostly the lightest.
