No. Most of that is due to the unvaccinated and delta. Obviously.
But the surge across the border is also contributing to spread in certain communities. introducing a couple thousand covid positive individuals to a community is likely to do that. I don’t get why this is so controversial. I believe one area has seen a 900% increase in positive tests from these individuals over the last month. It’s just adding to the problem for these communities. So yes. Concerned.
It’s not controversial to me. It’s just odd to bring up as a major point. I’m guessing the race in Nashville and the motorcycle gathering in Sturgis will also have major contributions to the spread.

You know what's funny?
Mexico’s outbreak is contemporaneous with or slightly more recent then the one in the US south. It didn’t cause it. And Florida doesn’t share much of a border with Mexico.

You are hearing news stories about border doctors because a powerful group is pushing a talking point to deflect blame from where it rightly belongs - with them. It’s a textbook example of spin.
Man. Stop hiding behind the term talking points and look at the numbers. How about I drop off an additional 1,500 positive cases to a north eastern small town and see how they like it and manage it?

Depends how many are vaccinated and who is already positive. Same with lallapalooza.

Changing subjects:

Bed count doesn't matter anymore. The capacity now is based on how many hospital staff are available, and there's a shortage of them: https://www.local10.com/news/local/...ge-of-icu-staff-amid-plethora-of-covid-cases/

“According to the Florida Hospital Association from 5 days ago: "Hospitals expecting critical staffing shortage in next 7 days: 60%"

Oh my goodness. This thread in the last few hours is now like a shouting match where no one can get a word in. There’s the border, Fauci, lab funding, vaccines, and then random pictures of dogs.

I’m reading all your posts in loud angry voices.
Random pictures of alcohol or Dodo pet videos would perhaps help dull down the rhetoric.

Sucks. Was there not opportunity to “build up” over the last year or so?

I still don’t get why people can’t be concerned with both. Just because some talking head brings it up on tv, no one is allowed to legitimately be concerned? But whatever.

One is magnitudes larger than the other. As you say get people vaxxed it is the way out and maybe those living in border communities should do the same? Then it doesn't matter and they can save their fear and outrage for something that does matter like climate change?

Wait…are you saying the caravan isn’t capable of making that spirited 350 mil swim from the yuca to Florida?!?🏊🏽‍♂️

If that were to happen…wonder if that northeast town would be allowed to respond? 🤔
