Well unfortunately this little problem of the sovereignty of states comes into play. So while I appreciate your poor attempt at snark rather than actually discussing the issue, there is no way to avoid the fact that our system of government requires us to divide whatever regs/guidelines via each of the 50 states.
It’s not snark. The virus doesn’t give a damn which side of a state’s border you’re on. States reopening at different times has unquestionably led to delayed lifting of restrictions nationwide, and states with a more lax plan has harmed other states. Measuring each state’s restrictions ignores completely the nationwide impact it has.

Now get Fauci and Wallensky and Baccera and Biden to say it.

Im all for a stated end goal. I question why our leaders refuse to state one.
They have.

You just don’t like Fauci’s response when he schooled Jim Jordan.

Just own it, you’re clearly fine with hundreds of thousands in the US dying every year.

This entire post is a lie to make yourself feel better. Own it, come to terms, stop kidding yourself. You’re clearly already at “some point” as the impacts exist today.
look I’m vaccinated. I have done my part. Followed all the rules. Masked up and even known people who have gotten sick and even died from this. It’s bad. I get it. No one wants it or to get sick in any way. I just feel the media fear factor and miscommunications from the beginning about this and understanding this has been very poor. Throw in making most of this a political thing moreso than a public health thing and now here we are.

no one has been able to explain why places like
Florida and Texas being wide open haven’t had people dying at exponentially higher rates than other major lockdown strict states like California who actually has the most cases at the moment. So being able to trust what they tell us is “the science” and not always adding up or it changing often leaves questions and lack of trust

We went from no need for masks to masks and 15 days to slow the spread to a year to double masking to now oh wait masks are basically pointless outdoors now because the risk is so low especially if you are vaccinated, but let’s keep wearing that mask around people anyways. I get erroring on the side of caution to try to keep people safe and I have done that as have many others which is great....but again...how long will this control of us not making our own decisions continue because the virus will always be around in some way and everyone will never be vaccinated and there will always be some risk. At some point mental health will become worse than covid

So... is the news not supposed to report on any kind of vaccine issues? Because then the knock would be that the media is so desperate for everyone to get vaccinated that they are now ignoring issues with the vaccines.
No they absolutely should...but have many times do we watch or see the “news” and it’s positive encouraging things? We need that to get those on the fence about getting a shot to feel better about getting one

What were are seeing locally is appointment availability even for today, but those are during work and school hours. To get an appointment for after 3:30pm for Pfizer have to go out to May 13th. Moderna same day available after work/school, J&J not even available. At this point I highly doubt even when Pfizer gets approved for 12-15 they will open it up quickly.

I didn't even see that yesterday. :(

yet you still expect him to know an exact percentage with 100% certainty is beyond ridiculous.
No one expects anyone to know everything about this virus 100%. But Fauci has been all over the place on this one. At this point I'm not sure how anyone trusts what this guy says. In my opinion he doesn't appear to be following the science as they say.

There's nothing objectionable about what Fauci said. He had an idea of what herd immunity might be around 70%, then new studies and information were presented that alter that estimate lower, and so the vaccination goal is going to be adjusted accordingly of what an ID specialist would like to see.

If you say so.
Here you go. One of their own saying that they spread falsehoods. There's another FOX reporter also saying that she was forced (forced is her word) to write a story that was untrue.

He based his scientific assessment on opinion polls. Let that sink in.

Because human behavior is part of the equation. As was stated a few times yesterday, and by more than one person. Let that sink in.
Ok we’re following the science here. It is a binary choice (yes or no) Does xx% represent herd immunity? Doesn’t work on opinion or feelings.
