I will be there on Easter so I will report back to you! :)
I'm sure it'll be a lot sooner than Easter. After all -

after Janet Leigh (and really who doesn't know this) got killed off in the first reel of PSYCHO, anything's possible

Still can’t believe that no essential workers are getting priority. People who spent the last year showing up for work every day to keep the lights on, keep us fed, transport us, etc... despite the personal risk and risk to their loved ones and they will just be waiting even longer as anyone who can get online and click a mouse fast enough will get the appointments first. Sad to see someone only interested in governing half the population :(
Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If vaccines were prioritized to essential workers, then the fight would break out of how "essential worker" is defined. Also, criticism would be brought down heavily on how long it is taking to vaccinate the elderly, the most at risk in this pandemic. I'm not going to say the easy way out was chosen or not, but vaccinating based on age groups can arguably be said to be the most fair method based on risk categories.

I am not a Covid denier. I actually had Covid in October. My uncle has been in the hospital and rehabilitation with Covid for going on four moths. A co-worker's father-in-law died of Covid earlier this year. My wife and I haven't been to a restaurant in over a year. We didn't go through with our planned trip to Walt Disney World last year because of Covid concerns. And I am getting my first vaccine shot this Thursday. So, no, I am not a denier.

But all of the evidence that I've seen suggests that at least students in K-8, if not K-12, can be in school in person right now with minimal risk to either students or staff. And also all the evidence I've seen suggests the mental health toll on kids, not to mention the educational toll, of being in a remote learning environment is extremely high. No, the risk of being in school is not zero. But the risk of being at home is not zero either.

Now, you and I can disagree about some of the specifics. But it is not fair to suggest that someone is a Covid "denier" just because they have an opinion that kids should be back in school.

In person full time for all is harder than some of the science is stating. We made it a full year without having to quarantine. Now I am waiting to find out if my kid was close enough or not to have to quarantine. Good thing we didn't have spring break plans. All because we went in person and 3 feet minimum cannot be met. The back and forth honestly is harder on the kids than maybe a good balance. We could definitely find ways to be in school at least part of the time and full time for those who do need it! Many weren't willing to compromise. The most vocal are the squeaky wheels here and it stinks.

I know we are almost there though, but if you read the CDC guidelines they are rather specific. If you can meet those guidelines that many smaller schools can, then go ahead and go to school. At this point we could at least wait until teachers are fully vaccinated before we try to push them all together, I think.

We've been all in, in person and hybrid all this year. I'm tired of changes.

As for mental health, there are both sides claiming both improvement and detrimental to kids. I don't think there is a solid answer.
Again, we agree. I live in a poor urban area and our city schools are completely ill-equipped. Thankfully the windows do open. Families in those schools were given chrome books and the option to remain virtual, thankfully. There really isn’t a practical way to use funds from the new rescue plan to help those schools open. We only have 8-9 weeks left in school for the year as is. I think, where we live, it is best to finish out as best we can and prepare to do a lot of review in the fall. This year is not salvageable. Even kids who have been in all year have had big slips in achievement b
My district won't open windows due to allergies for some. We have one quarter left after this week. I'll be glad when it's done. Don't really care about the rest of the year anymore.

Nevermind him, my bad let's try again guys, by Spring Break and next month/May, will there not be fourth wave?
That's what we keep trying to say when you ask. No one really knows. We can guess, but no one here is a specialist even to have a better idea. Do I think we'll see a blip up? Maybe to definitely in some areas. Do I consider it a 4th wave? Possibly not.

To anyone who thinks I’m being harsh this is why, and it’s only a sample

When masks and social distancing will go away soon? @GoofGoof and will the pandemic will be end soon in USA?

@GoofGoof if all cases are so low by early summer as people got all vaccine by summer then masks and social distancing will gone forever?

With more states losing mask mandates, will it could cause another surge soon or not? @GoofGoof

@GoofGoof after the pandemic, is the next pandemic will be another many years?

Back to topic guys...
You’re new here, just trying to help you “learn to post” every message board has its own culture. Another one I post at has adopted a guiding principle “read more, post less” ie read the room, try to fit in. That’s how you become an experienced poster.

No one knows when the pandemic will end, as far as I know (assuming He is not posting incognito) God does not post here. Most signs are positive currently, vaccines are working, we seem to nearly be over this but we don’t know.

Any position that is taken that begins with " I am not a (fill in the blank)" and continues with a "but (fill in the reasoning being used to show why the author is not a member of the group they deny they are a part of)" is hard to digest as fair and balanced.

The CDC and public health officials disagree. They laid out a specific set of guidelines with tiers that included essential workers. Almost every state is providing some level of priority for essential workers. It’s not that hard to do. Even if you wanted to do all 65+ first why go down to 55 and then general public? People like first responders who are literally risking their lives to help us get no priority. It’s pretty hard to understand....actually it’s not, just hard to imagine someone can get away with doing that and not get called out for it.
