I see both sides of it, WDW has succumb to the Corona hysteria.. Like all pandemics, it should be treated seriously, but they did not make the same move during H1N1 in 2009 when 60k people died. In the current panic, if they don't close and WDW becomes 'typhoid Mary's' lagoon, wdw would take a huge publicity hit for being greedy. The decision they made will just be a lost money and only anger those who had plans for the next 2 weeks..

You assume this is going to be over in 2 weeks. It won't... remember how long China has been battling it and they are only now getting to a point where fewer people are being diagnosed than are getting over it, and they are a country where the government can do massive lockdowns and the people accept it. I don't think the US is taking nearly as decisive measure which means we will only see more cases over the next two weeks... My guess is the 2 weeks will turn into April and then who knows...

The other issue is mental and emotional well being.

Usually in times of war or economic downturn people can escape to sports or entertainment.
But that has all gone off line so there are few healthy outlets to escape this.

I was just at a casino and it hit me when the sportsbook had all the TVs turned off cause there are no sports events tonight. The casino didn't have one bet all day. Tomorrow it's just UFC, Mexican soccer and cricket as sporting events worldwide.

You officially have a gambling problem if you are betting on UFC, Mexican soccer or cricket...and this is coming from a guy who once bet on the WNBA when some dude who was drunk out of his mind gave me a hot tip at a late night craps table. Vegas must be really hurting right now and half those companies own big casinos in Hong Kong too which already got nailed.

Our school district isnt allowed to tell us there's lice. I befriended a teacher my daughter's kindergarten year and we were setting up a party while the kids were out and she told me that "you didn't hear this from me because we are technically allowed to tell parents but there is lice in the class so check your daughter."
I was like say whaaaaaa? You can't tell me? She said no because then parents will start asking well who has it, who started it blah blah blah so we rely on the school district to release a statement when it's bad enough and parents to just spread the word when they find it.

My issue is that you are comparing apples to viruses.....it holds no ground. People can not get sick and spread obesity to others?
Your entire country is not in a state of EMERGENCY for something that is blown up out of proportion.
This is serious - - - the more you treat it as such the better it will be for everyone.
An actual pharmacist - - - Is NOT a front line medical worker.
My wife and her entire family are doctors and nurses, I am talking 8 members of her immediate family. These are the people you should be talking to, not some Walgreens pill pusher.
It is not just the mortality rate here, for the millionth time. This virus will hospitalize 15 percent of the people who get it also 5-8 percent between 30 to 90 years of age will need a ventilator.
Your health care system will be pushed to collapse if nothing is done.
Attitudes like yours might even kill people. Educate yourself before you wreck your country!!!

My in-laws are both RN's. So you're telling me that 85% of people will NOT be in the hospital and 92-95% of people will NOT be on a ventilator. I like those odds myself.

A group of my friends/kid’s classmates are going to Great Wolf Lodge for a few days next week. So far 6 families... not sure how many more will end up going. So far GWL has not announced any closings.
People don’t want to sit home.
